I sucked on my teeth trying to comprehend what Jackson just said 

"Minah said that you guys are basically mortal enemies because of Lily and the whole family thingy and now you're telling me that you fell in love with my fiancé?" I said still trying to wrap my head around what he just said to me 

"I'm really good at acting?... I should start an acting career, a lot of people try their luck with that here in LA right? You think I'd get in?" He said smiling mischievously 

"Seriously? My mind is in shambles and you're thinking about your upcoming acting career?" I responded to him with disbelief

"Why is it such a shock to you that someone like or loves Bada who's not born with two X chromosomes? It's Bada." He said as if it's not a big thing 

"I know that it's Bada, but you do know-" Before I can finish my sentence he waved his hand on my face motioning me to shut my mouth 

"You don't think I know that? Do you have any idea how fucked up it is to be in the same family as the girl you love? Or the fact that she can't like you because obviously, you're not her type at all and not just physically or trait or attitude wise?" He said I couldn't help but kept my mouth shut with what he said 

"Bada is a good friend, she is everything I could ever dreamed of, but I know it's a losing game from the start, Minah believed from the very first that I love Lily, but she was more of a younger sister to me. I hate the fact that Bada likes her that's why I kept meddling with them two and the whole reason I kept annoying Bada is to get her attention... At least that way she'd even give a two cents about me or look my way" He said with disappointment all over his face and voice

"Jackson... That's sad..." i almost whispered

"I know... Don't you think I know that? I don't need your pity, but if you think I like you or that I'll do something for you both to have hindrances in y'all relationship, you're wrong I'm solely here for Minah, I've stayed at NYC for too long and I've missed Minah.." He added sitting down on his bed and holding a jewelry box that he then handed to me 

"What's this?" I asked him after gently grabbing the box from his hand 

"You want an engagement ring right?" He said referring to the box in my hand and I slowly opened it 

It's beautiful, the band is covered with small diamonds and a decent size of white diamond in the middle 

"Oh my god... Where did you even get this?" I asked him and he smiled 

"It's our sister's ring" He said, what does he mean?

I looked at him confusedly and he rolled his eyes

"We have an eldest sister, she was about to get married but then she got into a car accident on her wedding day... Our parents divorced because of it. I was thinking of decluttering that ring" He said casually.

Uhm... Pause champ, first of all how? Second why? And third, I'm sorry what?!

"I am not going to wear your dead sister's ring!" I almost exclaimed and he gave me a glare

"Who said our sister is dead? She's in comatose and that's the reason why our Mom went back to being a nurse so she can stay at the hospital 24/7 " He explained looking at me with disgust

"Oh... I'm sorry... But still it feels wrong to take this" I said to him looking at the ring

"It's mine, I gave it to my brother-in-law to give to our sister, but after the incident he gave it back to me and said that he will look for a better ring for our sister when she wakes up, so if anything... No one will use that anymore, plus you'll be a part of the family, it's heirloom or some shit that you Americans believe in" He explained further
