Title Name - Ecstasy Killer
I normally was a patient person. I kept my cool during arguments, I refused to let a fight turn violent and I walked away when it seemed my efforts were futile. It takes a lot to really get me mad, and for good reason. You see, I'm a bit of a maniac when I'm angry. It's like a switch is flipped and then something unknown takes over. I remember what I've done while in that state but it's like I'm watching myself do these things while in the passenger seat. I'm not in control of my actions. So I try my best to conceal my anger.
That wasn't the case for tonight, however.
I was invited to dinner with Wednesday and her family. I was her plus one and I was excited to be able to spend time with my girlfriend's parents and adoptive sister. Except half way through the first course, things started to get.... uncomfortable.
"Enid here has been incredible the past few days. Right honey?"
My eyes flicked to Enid's and that's when I noticed just how drained she looked. She had bags under naturally beautiful blue eyes and the forced smile didn't quite meet the dead look she expressed.
"Yeah. Just doing my duty as a housewife."
I knew that tone meant she wasn't having a good time. But obviously her fiancé couldn't catch the hint as he laughed and threw an arm around her shoulders. I watched her flinch at the touch and that's when I started asking the bigger questions. Enid doesn't flinch, so why is she flinching? My breathing picked up when the shirt she wore moved to reveal her neck, showing some bruises along the neckline. Perfect area for her shirt to cover if she sat the right way. I quickly snapped my eyes over to where the man in question sat and talked animatedly with Gomez.
Enid's entire werewolf pack was murdered mysteriously while she was attending her junior year of Nevermore. She was 17 and had gone back home for the holidays only to find them all slaughtered. She suspected it to be werewolf hunters. But to this day we still don't know.
When we came back for classes, neither Wednesday nor Enid had come back when everyone else did. They took a few more weeks off. And when they did finally come back, Enid told me everything. From how she contacted Wednesday, to how the Addams chose to adopt her. It was honestly the sweetest thing Wednesday's family could do. But she always denies she had anything to do with it. I digress.
Anyway...
I look back to Enid and see her giving me a pleading look.
"Y/n?" Wednesday's voice caresses my ear like a wave of warmth crashing along my body. I turn to look at her. "Your leg is bouncing. It's annoying."
"I'm sorry." I mumble and look down as I stop its movements.
"You know, Wednesday, I have an older cousin that would take extra good care of you."
A vein in the side of my neck twitches. I could see Wednesday lift her head up as if to stare at this dumb man from the tip of her nose.
"No thank you Tanner. I'm very happy with who I'm with."
I look up and quickly meet the man's eyes. He looked at me with a disapproving look, as if he were better than me, before huffing.
"I don't know Wens, I want to see my soon to be wife's family be taken care of. And I don't think she can do that for you."
