Title Name - Ecstasy Killer (end.)

The precautions of being a serial killer are always taken seriously. I know the pros and the cons for what I do in my spare time. Which means I have to be ten steps ahead of the authorities. It took them two weeks to find the body. Two weeks after the initial missing report was filed.

That means that everyone close to Tanner were suspects and questioned at least twice. And by two different cops. Why? Just in case the story changes.

For example: the day Enid met Detective Hadley. It was a few days after she had given her story to the police station. He came over for follow up questions.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Sinclair. I know this must be hard for you." Detective Brian Hadley says. His tone held genuine concern as he looked at Enid with sorrowful blue eyes.

Enid, the ever sucker for men who showed vulnerability, sniffled from behind her tissue as a few more tears fell down her cheeks.

"It's okay..." her voice sounded distraught. Strangled almost as if she were trying to push back the need to cry again.

"I know you've told us everything a few days ago but we just wanted to follow up with you. Just in case we missed anything."

Enid nodded her head. "I understand."

Brian smiled sweetly at the young woman before tapping his pen on the note pad.

"Tell me again the last time you saw him."

"Your story cannot change. No matter how many times they ask you. You must never change a single detail. They will analyze it until there's nothing left."

It was a few days after Tanner had been reported missing. Enid was the one to make the report. Curtsy if Y/n. When Wednesday had told Enid what had happened Enid was relieved she didn't have to deal with a man like him anymore. She had long since fallen out of love with Tanner, only staying with him out of fear that he'd hurt her further.

But then the guilt of knowing what had happened to him began to eat the woman up. She knew the cops would come knocking on her door. So Y/n told Enid to file the report within 48 hours and then just wait.

When she filed the report they had asked her the questions then. And her story was,

~

"He always comes home at the same time everyday. 6:30 pm. When he didn't come home the first night I assumed he was with his cousin."

"And did you call their phones?"

"I did. I called Tanner's first then Kevin's. But neither of them have answered."

"What about his parents? And does he have any siblings?"

"He doesn't have siblings. He was an only child." Enid stopped to suck in some air and it came and went in a hitched stutter. "His-....his parents died when he was just a teenager so he lived with his uncle and aunt until he was 18. Where he took over his father's company."

Brian wrote down what was said, even though Enid never once changed her story.

"Did he have any life insurance?"
