Shiv spent that weekend in Paris whilst the others traveled back home on Friday morning. She visited her uncle and nieces and stayed at their house for two nights. It was a really nice weekend, reminding Shiv of her ultimate goal of moving back to her mother's country.
At the same time, it made her a little sad in the same way her meeting with the minister had. It was like seeing everything her mother could have had whilst knowing she was stuck back home, with Dorian in England.

On Sunday evening, she stopped by the largest wizarding library in Europe to pick up some books her uncle had recommended. Most of them were regarding topics that were banned in Britain. If she wasn't so taken aback by her last interaction with Tom, she would've been excited to show him.

Tom. The thought of him made her stomach turn. She hadn't spoken to him since..

She had felt terrible the morning after. Not only because the shame and guilt had finally reached through the mist in her head, but also because of the hefty amount of alcohol she'd consumed.
She swore never to drink again (this would last a week) and visited a magical apothecary to get rid of her headache and nausea. She had no idea how muggles survived hangovers.

When she came back, she saw Slughorn and Tom leave together, dressed to perfection. She wondered what they were up to, but was too nervous to make eye contact with the latter to ask.
She ended up just rushing upstairs, ignoring Abraxas when he knocked on her door and asked her to come play a game of cards with her. Seeing the whole Slytherin group again was something she didn't look forward to after what had happened.

I have you right where I want you..

'Siobhan?' The sound of her name made her snap out of her thoughts.

'Sorry,' she murmured as she flipped through her notebook and found the list of topics she wanted to discuss during this prefects meeting. She had trouble focusing on her classes that whole morning.
This was the first time she saw Tom again as well, something that didn't help her attention span.

'So, I'd like to start with my idea of extending the curfew of the 5th years and up to 1 am on Fridays and Saturdays. We would meet the students halfway in their wishes without it being too much of a change-' Shiv started off from the top of her list.

'That's just going to come across like we give into anything they get mad about and want to change, we're here to-' the Hufflepufs head boy cut in rudely. It was Paul Sprout, one of Milo's friends.

Annoyed, she snapped her notebook shut. It was Shivs turn to cut in, refusing to be talked over.
'We're here to make sure the school is a safe and pleasant place to be. It's a small change, but we'll have listened to them.'

Paul rolled his eyes at her. There looked to be a renewed sort of hate in his eyes, one that seemed to have nothing to do with their disagreement on curfews.
'Yeah, I'm sure you're dying to please the masses. You're taking the easy route,' he scoffed.

Shiv narrowed her eyes. 'Is there a problem, Paul?'

'I don't know, maybe,' he replied. His eyes darted to Percival Weasly, who was a Gryffindor prefect, and it all made sense to her.
She had seen Paul and Milo be friendly with Weasly before, and it wasn't a stretch to assume the last had seen her be very close with Tom this past week. Milo must have told his friends about the kiss with Shiv in Hogsmeade. Without Paul having to say it, his eyes full of contempt did it for him.

'Then, by all means, tell us your ideas. If I'm correct, it were.. 43? accounts of Hufflepufs being out after curfew last month?' She snapped back. 'What are you guys even doing out there?'

Paul straightened himself in his chair and said something that made the room go silent. 'At least I didn't fall asleep and get a girl killed.'
It was supposed to be kept a secret that it had been her, but for some reason, the whole school already seemed to know.
