Chapter 3 -Bonfire

Imene p.o.v.

I quickly ran back to the pack house in shock after meeting the moon goddess. My mind is racing faster than my heart is beating. Shay is delighted and full of joy at knowing just how powerful she really is but me... I feel like I'm still dreaming and I want to wake up.

The bonfire for branding everyone that got their ranks today starts at 5. We decided a bonfire was more fitting since it's in the middle of the pack lands and a great reason to have a party while in pain.

I haven't talked to Joy and James, my siblings or my dad. I'm really avoiding everyone for as long as I can because I know without a doubt I'll be asked the million dollar question. What is your rank?

Hell who am I kidding ! Even if I tell them they wouldn't believe me anyway. I decide to take a shower and put on a nice simple dress that is easy to take off. After each member gets a brand of their rank we all shift and hunt as wolves while every other pack member enjoy the bonfire.

A hour later

I make my way to sit by my family on stage. Since I'm a alpha daughter it makes me a higher rank by default to anyone who had an evaluation today therefore I go first for branding and the mating ceremony.

Ainsley , Ashley, and Brook was preparing the hot irons to brand the wolves with while my father began his speech.

"Welcome everyone to this year's branding bonfire! This year we had 150 young wolves join the community officially getting their rank. Not only is that the biggest expansion of our pack for years but we have the first silver since the royal family !" My father said cheesing ear to ear.

The whole crowd shared a chorus of 'wow' at the news of a silver wolf. Majority of the pack members were happy since it makes our pack stronger than the average. I wonder if my dad knows I'm the silver wolf but I doubt it since nobody supposed to find out until the brand is upon that wolf skin.

"Because of the elders finding a silver wolf the royal family wanted to join us for this celebration and to witness the silver wolf welcomed into the community." My father continued while he pointed to the middle of the crowd to make a path for the royal family .

Everyone moved excitedly out of the way for Queen Luna Erica and King Alpha Edward alongside their daughter princess Jamie. They have a son but he wasn't present at the moment. The royal family made their way to the stage and sat down as my father finished speaking.

"Now let the branding begin !" My father finished his speech as elder Brook took his place on stage.

"As the current highest rank of this year evaluation the alpha daughter Imene Cruz will go first." Elder Brook said as she gestured for me to come stand next to her.

Elder Ainsley held the branding stick as elder Brook continued to speak . "After evaluating you in human and wolf form you have officially received the silver rank— the first silver wolf in 100 decades!"

The silence that held the yard was creepy and not helping me from not throwing up. Before I could even look at my fathers face elder Ainsley gave me the silver rank brand on my right shoulder blade which caused me to bend on one knee in pain. The entire crowd erupted in cheer and excitement as I got up.

I took my previous seat as I felt every eye on me. I look over to my dad who must of been waiting on me to look at him because he was cheesing so hard one of his canine fangs were showing. Well atleast he is happy and proud of me. My siblings all looked proud except my older brother Brandon who didn't even look my way.
