For the next few minutes, I was on a daze. I didn't care that she got my name right after all. I couldn't care that I was standing like a frozen zombie outside my tent for who knows how long. All I could think of was that I let my Kagome go out on her own to face whatever monsters await her, without me by her side to protect her. I found her but now I was lost.

I finally decided to wrap things up and packed my bags. I dropped by the resto for breakfast thinking it's gonna be a long way back to Cebu. Miss Slash was still at the counter serving the couple.

"Pauli na ka, Sir." (Translation: "Are you going home, Sir?")

"Uu." I nodded. (Translation: "Yes.")

"Sir, pasensiya na jud kung gibiyaan daw ka ni ma'am way tarung pananghid." (Translation: "Sir, she says sorry if she left without saying a word.")

That got my attention. How did she know. "Pirme ba to siya diri nga resort? Si Ma'am?" I was a bit sarcastic. (Translation: "Is she a regular customer here?")

"Sauna, Sir. Pirme man to sila dire. Katong wa pay sakit iyang mama. Sila man gud tag-iya aning resort." (Translation: "In the past, they're always here when her mom wasn't sick yet. They own this resort.")

Bang. A cold wave of realization washed over me. That's why...We have a clinic...Emphasis on the We.The extra care and respect given by the staff. The fountain – a secluded area that she knew of. The car ever ready at herdisposal. I was calculating the pros and cons in my head.

"Pero nalipay ko Sir nga ning-mata na daw si Madam, basig ok na xa. Salamat sa Diyos." (Translation: "But I'm thankful that Madam has awakened from her coma. Thank God.")

"Ako sab, te. Ako sab." (Translation: "Me too. Me too.")

And on that final note, I left the resort. I tried to haggle her number from Ate Daisy, I decided to use her name to be more convincing. I even pleaded with puppy eyes. But to no avail. She simply didn't keep her number. She even offered her father's number since that's the only one she got. But I decided against it. I guess I have to get back to the resort pretty soon and perchance another summer happenstance.

Absolutely. It was the best days of my life. Bliss. Love.Pain. Hope. Sacrifice.

And definitely one of the many better days to come... with you, my Kagome, if I see you again.
