"Of course," Seungkwan replied, his gaze fixed on Dokyeom, who trailed behind him on their way to Nabi's room. "If she doesn't feel like having breakfast, perhaps something sweet will brighten her day," he added thoughtfully.
"Brighten her day?" Dokyeom's voice trailed off, his expression clouded. "After what happened last night, I'm not sure there's much left to brighten for her."
"Hyung, please, just listen to me and get your ass upstairs. Maybe it's not the slice of cake she needs, but us, our presence," Seungkwan said, his voice laced with concern. "She needs someone."
"Hmm, you're absolutely right. I can't comprehend why Minghao acted so poorly with her this morning," Dokyeom mused, his brows furrowing in deep thought. "And remember yesterday, he almost had a panic attack just at the sight of Nabi having one."
"He's likely grappling with his own emotions," Seungkwan sighed, abruptly stopping in his tracks. Dokyeom nearly collided with him, narrowly avoiding a catastrophe involving the slice of cake.
"What are you trying to say?" Dokyeom asked, his curiosity piqued.
Seungkwan sighed again before explaining, "I think Minghao has feelings for her, hyung. But he's struggling to accept it because he believes it's wrong to have those feelings, especially given the uncertainty about whether she killed Min or not."
"That's why he made such a fuss about that drug dealer kissing Nabi in the bathroom... Now it all makes sense," Dokyeom remarked, a dawning realization in his eyes.
Seungkwan nodded in agreement. "However, that's no excuse for him to treat her so harshly, especially at a time like this. Nabi needs someone, and that someone could only be Minghao. We might not know her well, but he does. While she was here, he was the one closest to her," he added earnestly.
"Seungkwan-ah," Dokyeom began, his tone serious, "you have to remember that for the most part, Minghao's interactions with Nabi were driven by the belief that she killed his sister. He was the one who meticulously planned her abduction for years before finally succeeding. Just because he spent the most time with her doesn't necessarily mean it's a positive thing."
"I understand, hyung," Seungkwan acknowledged. "But what I'm trying to point out is that recently, Minghao has shown kindness towards her. He went as far as letting her stay in the guest room," he explained.
Dokyeom sighed deeply. "Minghao is a deeply conflicted man," he remarked with a hint of sadness. "It may take him a considerable amount of time to come to terms with his feelings for Nabi, and I fear that by the time he does, it could be too late..."
"I understand your point, hyung, but I find it hard to believe that he would willingly abandon Nabi to the clutches of that psychopath," Seungkwan declared firmly.
"I hope he won't," Dokyeom said with a sigh, and then the two continued their way to Nabi's room.
Upon arriving in front of the door, the two exchanged a meaningful glance. Understanding each other's unspoken concerns, Seungkwan then gently knocked on the door.
A faint "Come in" was heard from the other side of the door, Nabi's voice sounding hoarse and weak.
The two entered the room, and there they found Nabi sitting on the bed, cradling Ginger in her lap, the small feline peacefully asleep.
