Year 2016
POV: Ayat
"Hey!" Is it just me, or her voice sounds overly annoying to me? Clara was yelling to crash a wedding, though all I cared about was sleep. Those nightmares have started to annoy me again.
"Listen to me for this once, this is the last time, I swear, please?" She pleaded. I have been stuck with her for three years now. Though I must stress that even if I say I'll give my life to her, it won't be enough for what her father and she has done for me. I am and will always be grateful to them.
She is younger than me hence, she always had her ways to me. In annoyance I said knowing I have a soft spot for her "Okay, let's go!" before she could scream, "But I will choose the place, and let's get ready in red. It's a desi wedding after all."
I looked happy, being all dressed like an Indian princess, with this red wine lehenga covered in white pearls. I noticed something sparkly when I turned around. It was Clara, dolled up in a black gown. She put forward her soft hands towards me, carrying a pair of earrings. She brushed my curly brown hair to the side so she could get a better view, perfectly placed on my ears. We wore matching earrings. We heard a loud car horn, which alarmed us to hurry.

"I would be a liar if I don't say this, damn this place is huge," Clara said. We finally arrived at the mansion. I heard there was a wedding in the old mansion. I always admired such mansions and dreamt that I will have one of this one day. It's a blessing to look at a desi wedding, people dancing, singing, auntie's glaring, uncles chatting about business in this huge place decorated with white flowers and specially lavenders. It was a mesmerizing sight, but what made it better was a man.
I was never interested in love, I can't make an effort on something that's way out of my league. But him, his slicked back black hair, to his perfectly built body covered in a black tuxedo. Unconsciously, my eyes ran over his sharp jawline to his Adam's apple.
Was I staring at him for too long? Was I attracted to him? Was I noticing every move he made attentively? I didn't know the answers to all these questions, but I surely knew it was a sin.
