POV: No one
"But sir, you're bleeding a lot!" Esther pleaded. "Do I look like a peasant to you that I will be treated by a woman!" A man covered in blood with a torn white shirt spoke. "Die then," Ayat said from afar. "Sir, she is the best neurosurgeon we have, and moreover, the emergency ward is full. Please try to understand," Esther begged.
"I said no!" And with that, a loud slap fell on Esther's soft cheek. "And you better—" That misogynist was about to hit Ayat.
POV: Ayat
"How dare you!" Ayat said while dodging the hit, and in a split second, the man was lying on the ground in pain. "Esther, pick him up and put him in a ward filled with women," I ordered Esther."Will you be there?" that arrogant man threw a question in the air. "What's your name, sir?" I asked, hoping it was 'criminal.' He had a full sleeve tattoo and his head was wrapped in a torn cloth to stop the bleeding, yet he looked too tough to be just anyone. "Are you a criminal?" I asked again, picking him up.
"You got keen eyes, I see." Was it sarcasm? "I am a gangster by name," he said while roaming his eyes all over me, giving off a disgusting aura.
"I will be in your ward on time. Esther, clean his wounds, please." Poor girl. She took his minions and him to a ward while I told the receptionist to call the cops. Did I really have to go through all this before going home?
----------
"I will be off now, and Esther, was the gangster case closed?" I asked, hoping criminals wouldn't be roaming around in this hospital. "Yeah, I guess so, but he kept on asking about you," she said, annoyance dripping from her voice.
"Okay, bye then. I will make sure to report on Zara's recovery," I said and left. It was quite cold outside with the northern wind blowing, but I blushed instantly as his car came into sight. It seems like I can't leave without this handsome chauffeur.
With a smile plastered on my face, "Hey, how are you—" I couldn't finish my words when I noticed a bruise on his forehead and a red Bugatti behind him. "How did this happen? Are you alright?" All those giddy feelings I was having turned into concern for him. Who was he to me, making me feel all these feelings I never felt?
"Not much, it was just an accident," Vernom spoke out of nowhere, making me flinch.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" I screamed in panic, knowing he doesn't often come to my workplace. "Guys, explain, please?" I asked, more like begged, because I couldn't wrap my thoughts around the fact that Ehaan and Vernom were together.
"I hit him, thinking it was my car wash boy," I heard Vernom say. I looked at Ehaan, questioning, "Why were you there?" looking for answers in his hazel eyes but found him lost in thoughts.
"Ehaan?" I asked again.
"It was my fault, ma'am," Collen spoke with a 90-degree bow. "I saw Mr. Vernom dropping you this morning and thought it was your family member. I am extremely sorry." He kept on apologizing and I kept processing his words.
"What?" That was the only word I could think of. "You thought it was a family member and decided to visit? Clearly knowing I am an orphan." I questioned Ehaan, looking straight into his eyes in displeasure.
"I am sorry, I wanted to invite them for dinner—" I cut him off.
"You know I am an orphan, right?" A lone tear escaped his eyes as I took a step back. My heart broke into pieces watching him shed even a single tear.
"I know. I just wanted to know more about you, so I went with what Collen said. I am so sorry."
I interrupted him again, "Let's talk while going to your place. Sorry, paps, I can't talk to you now. I will call you tomorrow." Saying that to Vernom, I was about to get in the car when Vernom came near my ear and whispered, "He is a good guy. Don't go harsh on him," and gave a wink.
"Ehaan." "I am sorry." We said at the same time.
"I was lured into Collen's words. I am so sorry. He was saying that he might be your grandfather and that I might meet you there," he said while cleaning his face with one hand and the other on the wheel.
"Why did you want to meet me? We were about to meet at night again, though." He looked blank, totally blank with tears waiting to fall.
"I forgot why. Let's go home for now." His was talking while I took a tissue to wipe those tears off.
