Pov: Ehaan

All I witnessed was a sea of red. It pained me to see her in distress, her vulnerability leaving a lasting mark on my heart. My instinct was to mend everything, even the shattered fragments of glass embedded in the muddy ground.

Approaching her shattered me, each tear that fell from her frightened eyes further breaking my resolve. I couldn't bear to witness her in such a fragile state, nor could I cradle her in my arms indefinitely. Seeking her permission, my eyes welled up with tears; she deserved to be tended to.

I led her to a room, a haven within her home's comfort. Yet, my attention shifted not just to her, but to the adorned living space. I acknowledged her attempts to bring a smile to my face and lighten my spirit. However, my focus wavered when I noticed the crimson stains on her hands.

The situation could have escalated, perhaps even resulting in an irrevocable loss. For now, let me share her space. "Look, you got a blood blemish on your shirt," she remarked with a feigned smile. From her eyes, I could discern the depth of her internal struggle. "It could have been fine, but it's your blood," I replied, my eyes betraying a renewed surge of emotion.

After a few minutes, the task of cleaning and dressing her wounds was complete. Throughout, I felt the warmth of her eyes seeking answers. She posed questions, yet I chose to concentrate on her, deferring responses to a later time. Wrapping her in a blanket, I left in the blink of an eye, leaving her blushing. Let's say I left her with a genuine smile.

Sleep eluded me throughout the night as I clutched the earring tightly, contemplating. Who could possibly disrupt her peaceful slumber? "I don't want to know what happened to her car, but I am her driver now," I declared, leaving my home with the conviction that despite providing her with a new car, she would vehemently refuse. Thus, being her companion ensures her safety and comfort.

During the car ride, she engaged in a dialogue, initially taken aback but eventually settling into a rhythm. The knowledge that she found comfort in my presence elevated me to euphoria.

Pov: No one

"Esther! Nurse Esther! I saw a man dropping off Dr. Noor!" Miss Mili, a nurse, exclaimed to Miss Esther, Ayat's colleague. "Are you, by any chance, her stalker?" Esther retorted, her expression saturated with annoyance. Mili lapsed into complete silence in response. "I'll take that as a yes. Miss stalker, go inform Dr. Noor that there is a courier for her," Esther instructed with polite authority.

Pov: Ayat

"Thank you for the ride," I expressed, hoping it wouldn't be our final encounter. "Who says thank you to their driver?" He responded with a serious countenance, as if my payment to him constituted a handsome sum for chauffeuring. Exiting the car, he walked me to the gate. Beyond him, a valley of Chrysanthemums unfolded, resembling a distant pink sky. Their delicate fragrance wafted towards us. "Do you happen to like those?" he inquired, his eyes gleaming. "Yeah, I loved those flowers." They were a luxury I couldn't afford.

Opening the door for me, he waited as I entered the elevator. Though he vanished from sight, his presence lingered in my thoughts. Consumed by my own musings, I failed to notice Mili running behind me for the past 20 minutes. "Dr. Noor, wait, please!" Mili pleaded, bringing me back to reality. "Here's your parcel!" Mili, breathless, handed it to me.

"Thank you so much, Mili, and sorry for not noticing you!" I apologized as she glared, departing without further words. "I didn't order anything with the address of the hospital." Receiving a parcel without any association seemed absurd. My curiosity impelled me to open it, revealing a perfectly square box.

A blue box adorned with a neatly tied white ribbon elicited excitement, as if someone had sent me a thoughtful gift. Carefully untying the ribbon, I opened the box only to lose balance and fall to my knees in shock. The box contained bloodstains and bloody clothes. Horror engulfed me, but I forced myself to face the brutal reality. On top of the bloody clothes, a small card lay.

"Look what you did to my son."

"I DID NOT!!" I screamed in fear, tears flowing unchecked. I recognized the sender, her scent lingering, vividly recalling her touch on the box. "Mother, believe me, I did not... I did not... I did not," I muttered, closing the box with trembling hands. Wiping my tears away, I concealed the box in a locked cabinet.

"Hey Noor?" Esther entered with a puzzled expression. "What's with this terrified face?" she inquired, confused by my uneasy state.

"Anyways, here are your duties for today, ma'am, hope you have a great day!" she said, leaving me in complete silence and time to process the recent events.

Time flowed in rounds of patient care, treating adorable kids and compassionate adults. "Esther, please have whoever is on the night shift check and switch the saline in room 42," I requested, signing some documents and updating patient records.

Leaving with a heavy mind and an empty heart, I pondered how I would reach home now, considering the fear of potential intrusion. The supposed sanctuary of my home now induced fear. It was meant to be a place of safety, yet my past seemed intent on strangling my present. Fears of my past were one thing, but the intrusion of my past into my future, tainting it, felt more ominous.

Lost in contemplation, my senses were awakened by his scent. Ehaan stood before me once again, his hazel eyes glittering while the moon paled beside him. Leaning on his car, with his left hand in his pocket and the right one holding a bouquet of flowers, he greeted me with a warm smile. "Hey!" he said, "How are you? It's kinda cold, right?" Never before had someone asked about me with such sincerity. His words filled my heart, and his presence alleviated the burden on my mind. "Ayat?" he called gently, bringing me back to my senses. I realized I had been staring at him for the past five minutes. "What brought you here?" I asked, keeping my gaze fixed on him because five minutes were not enough.

"Are you seriously a doctor? Because, darling, your memory is very small!" he teased, offering me the bouquet of ten pink Chrysanthemums. "Chrysanthemum?" I questioned in confusion. He opened the car door and explained, "Yeah, cause you like them."
