ASHA GREYJOY has always liked chaos. At least, she had always liked chaos for the past ten years, since the girl had become known as 'the undrowned'. She followed chaos, and chaos in turn followed her.
That's why the eldest remaining child of Balon Greyjoy finds herself shaking her wet hair more like a wet dog than a woman, walking down the halls of Pyke, the castle she's lived in her whole life, though she probably spends more time in the sea than her home. Her wet hair trails small drops of water behind her, but Asha couldn't care less about that. She honestly doesn't care about much anymore, save for her younger sister, Yara.
Balon, her father, had her called to where he was likely just sitting around by a fireplace in his castle. Asha almost didn't go, as she usually ignored her father's commands unless given by the man himself, but when the man who had come to get her mentioned her little brother, Theon, Asha's interest was immediately taken from the open body of water she was floating around in and she found herself listening to her father for once in the past ten years.
Asha shoves open the door after saying a quick greeting to her little sister who stands right outside the door, stepping into the room without bothering with the same pleasantries for her father. Balon looks at his daughter as she walks in, and the other man, who Asha can only assume is Theon, furrows his brows as he turns his head to face the girl that he doesn't seem to initially recognize as his eldest sister.
"My dear girl." Balon greets his eldest with a slightly smug grin on his face, putting his arm around Asha in a fatherly manner when she makes it over to him. In all honestly, this is the most affection she had been shown by her father in years, possibly since... the incident ten years ago. Asha isn't sure if she found more comfort or discomfort in the gesture.
"Asha?" Theon's eyes widen with recognition, and his eyes dart between his sister and his father as he tries to make sense of what's going on. Asha casually shrugs Balon's arm off of her, deciding it's less comfortable to her than it is.
"Nice to see you again, baby brother." Asha greets Theon, her tone mocking yet genuine at the same time. Theon's face morphs into a frown at the patronizing nickname from his eldest sister, but he doesn't comment on it. Not yet, anyway.
"B-but- she can't lead an attack!" Theon blubbers in an almost childish way, as if he were claiming unfairness with simple favoritism between him and his sister like Asha remembers him doing when they were younger.
"And why is that?" Balon raises a curious brow at his son, though an amused smirk crosses over both his and his daughter's face.
"She's-" Theon turns to face his sister rather than his father, stammering his words as if even he isn't fully sure about what his problem is. "You're a woman!"
"Says the one in skirts," Asha comments mockingly at her brother's attire, crossing her arms over her chest.
"This isn't Winterfell, boy." Balon looks down at his only living son with distaste. "Your sister took over command of your eldest brother's ship after your new father killed him."
"What is dead may never die." All three of the Greyjoys in the room say at once, though Asha doesn't let it get past her that Theon's words come slightly later.
"The only nights Asha's spent off these islands have been spent at the sea." Balon doesn't comment on the fact that most of her nights are spent at sea rather than near her father. "She's commanded men. She's killed men. She knows who she is." He adds as he leans over and sets fire to a letter in his hands, watching it burn while facing away from his son and daughter. "No man gives me a crown. I pay the iron price. I will take my crown." Balon finally throws the half-burnt letter into the fire and turns back to his children. "That is who I am. That is who we always have been." Balon then walks past his son, and Asha follows behind him.
"You know, you won't stand a chance against the Lannisters on your own," Theon calls after his father and sister, but only his sister is still left in the room.
"Who said anything about the Lannisters, baby brother?" Asha turns her head back to look at him once more, before she exits the room without an answer, not bothering to follow behind her father anymore and going straight back to the water.
