As they cruised down the sunlit suburban road, Alexia reached for Taylor's hand, intertwining their fingers, and carefully placed it in her lap, all while maintaining her unwavering focus on driving.

With a reassuring tone, Alexia hoped to alleviate the blonde's anxiety. "You've already met her before, Taylor. There's really no need to worry,"

However, Taylor's voice quivered with a mix of nervousness and excitement as she replied, "But it's different, you're introducing me as your girlfriend for the first time!" Her fingers curled around Alexia's in search of comfort.

At this moment, their destination was Courtney's house, where they were headed for a casual lunch. Although Taylor had crossed paths with Courtney countless times at various social gatherings, thanks to their shared mutual friends, the idea of being introduced as Alexia's girlfriend for the first time stirred butterflies in her stomach, especially since Alexia hasn't been in a serious relationship before.

Sensing Taylor's apprehension,
Alexia briefly glanced away from the road to catch the anxious expression on her girlfriend's face.

"But it's Courtney," Alexia said, her voice genuinely puzzled, tinged with a hint of curiosity. In her eyes, Courtney was the least intimidating and most bubbly person she knew.

Taylor took a deep breath, trying to convey her feelings gently. "I know, babe. I just realize how important Courtney is in your life, and I want to make a good impression. What if we were meeting my mom right now? Would you be nervous?"

"Oh shit! Yeah, I definitely would be." Alexia admitted with a nervous laugh, her imagination painting vivid scenarios of meeting Taylor's parents.

Taylor couldn't help but chuckle, her fingers gently caressing Alexia's knuckles as she brought their intertwined hands to her lips, planting a soft kiss. "You're funny," Taylor said genuinely, a warm smile playing on her lips.

Alexia reciprocated with a smile of her own. "Your feelings are completely valid, honey," she said, her voice dripping with affection. "But trust me, as soon as you step through that door, Courtney will pull you into a bear hug, probably too excited about your presence to even notice me. Besides, you're fantastic with people, Tay." Alexia consoled her girlfriend, sprinkling in a bit of humor as she pulled into the driveway.

Turning her seat to face Taylor directly, their eyes locked in an intimate connection. "Thank you,"
Taylor murmured, her gratitude reflected in her grin. She always needed a little reassurance, and Alexia was always willing to provide it.

Alexia scrunched her nose cutely and planted a quick peck on Taylor's lips. She then circled around to the passenger door, opening it for Taylor, who blushed at the gesture. Alexia went to the back and grabbed the wine bottle that Taylor had suggested they bring along before walking hand in hand to the front door. Courtney lived in a private neighborhood far from everyone, so they weren't scared of people taking pictures.

Alexia knocked on the door, and moments later, it swung open to reveal a thrilled Courtney. "Oh my god, Hi! It's so good to see you!" Courtney exclaimed, pulling Taylor into a huge bear hug right at the entrance. Alexia couldn't help but snicker, giving Taylor an "I told you so" look.

"I guess I'll just let myself in since you like my girlfriend more than me," Alexia quipped with a hint of attitude as she confidently strolled inside.

Courtney playfully stuck her tongue out at her sister. "Oh, shut up, Lex! How did my sister get so lucky with you? You're gorgeous!" she gushed at Taylor and ushered her indoors.

Taylor's laughter filled the air, her voice warm and melodic as she responded, "Thank you so much. I love your house!" Her eyes danced around the room, absorbing the colorful artwork adorning the walls and the lush greenery that seemed to thrive in every corner.
