An Uneasy Alliance

**A Week Later**:

 Hunter paced his office angrily...no, he had by-passed angry and was now homecidal! The damn Feds continued to interfere in Authority business, costing them money and contacts! Their latest bust had cost The Authority thousands of dollars when they took a shipment of drugs headed for New York. After the first time the Feds interfered, Hunter and Stephanie had suspicions that someone was tipping them off, but needed to be sure. Now they knew without a doubt they had a rat in the family, but didn't know who. Of course Steph believed it was Orton and Barrett; ever since Dean had gotten arrested she knew it had to be them, Hunter began to believe it too. So, to keep all their plans secret from the Feds, they decided after this last bust that the only ones to know anything about their plans were Hunter and Stephanie. Neither wanted to keep anything from Dean, but they couldn't risk Orton and Barrett learning anything; especially since Dean was arrested Orton and Barrett seemed to want to stick close to Dean, despite the hatred the trio had for each other, their actions right there made everyone suspicious!

Knowing they needed to get rid of the Feds, or they'd never get anything done, Hunter and Stephanie decided to bring in some help! Knowing The Wyatt Family had been having run-ins with the Feds too, they might be willing to join forces and get rid of them. Of course Hunter wasn't stupid, he'd bring the idea up to those red-neck idiots, let them do what they wanted, offering The Authority's full help, but if anything went wrong...well, then the Wyatts would be the one to take the fall! Hunter sat down at his desk and dialled Bray's number, seconds later he answered.

"Hunter, what do I owe for this little surprise phone call?" Bray asked.

"Well Bray, I'm calling to see if you'd be interested in doing a little job with us? The Authority and The Wyatt Family joining forces!"

"The great Hunter Helmsley asking for help? You certainly have me interested! Tell me more!" Bray answered.

"Well, you know the Feds have been screwing with my family and I know they've been causing your family
just as many problems!"

"They have!" Bray responded.

"So, I thought if we disposed of the two Feds then we all could get back to doing what we do best!" Hunter explained.

"Hm...that does sound rather exciting! What do you have in mind? I'm sure you'd want full control over the job?"

"Ah, that's the best part! I'm leaving it all up to you!" Hunter answered.

"Really? The Authority isn't being in control?"

"Nope! As a peace offering, until the Feds are gone your family has complete control over the job, with The Authority's full support of course!"

"Hm...very interesting." Bray said.

"You do whatever you want, and we'll support you 100 percent! What do you say Wyatt?"

"You are a strange creature Helmsley, but we accept! I'll call you when we're ready for your support!" Bray agreed, before he hung up.

Hunter hung up smiling, just as Stephanie came into the room. She sat on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck as she spoke.

"So?"

"He's doing it! He's going to call us when he's ready for our support!"

"Perfect! Once they're out of the way we can finally take back what's ours!" She said smiling, before she kissed him.

"Hey guys, I'm going to go grab dinner! I'm freaking starving!" Dean said, as he came into the room.

"Why don't we go to that new place that opened up a couple of blocks from here?" Steph asked smiling.

"You mean that fancy, French place?" Dean asked, she nodded. "Uh, nope!"

"What? Why?" She asked.

"Come on Steph, you really need to ask? Do I look like I'd eat there...by choice?" Dean asked smirking.

"What's wrong with a little fine dining once in awhile Deano?" Hunter asked smiling.

"For starters, I'd have to get dressed up in a damn monkey suit! Then there's what they call food, I've had prison food that tasted better, and the amount you get wouldn't feed a damn mouse, let alone me! Oh, and then there's the price..."

"Alright, okay D, we get it!" Hunter said smiling cutting Dean off.

"Okay, I'm going to grab some real food, then maybe go grab a couple beers at the bar, I'm not sure yet!" Dean explained smiling.

"You coming back tonight?" Steph asked smiling.

"Uh...don't know! There's this hot girl working at the bar, I've been trying for days to get her, but she won't give in! I think tonight might be my lucky night!" Dean answered smiling, as he winked at them.

"Just be careful Deano, with the Feds around, who knows where they'll show up!" Hunter warned.

"I got it bossman! Wish me luck!" Dean said, as he turned and walked out.
