A Brother Betrayed

Roman didn't want to leave Dean, he wanted to turn around and take Dean in his arms never letting go! He couldn't though...not yet, so he left the room and began walking down the hall. As he did a young girl dressed all in black walked past him and went into Dean's room, he knew it was Paige. He stopped walking and looked back into the room seeing them hug, he still felt jealous, even though he knew Dean loved him and would never hurt him. He watched them for a few seconds, before he heard his name being called.

"Roman!"

"Seth!" Roman said smiling, as he met his brother halfway and hugged him.

"You're alive!" Seth said sounding like he was trying not to cry. "I was so scared I'd never see you again!"

"Me too, but it's okay now I'm fine...or I will be in a few weeks!" Roman said smiling, when the hug ended.

"How did you escape?" Seth asked.

"I'll tell you everything back at the hotel, it's been a long night and I just want to lay down!"

"Okay, big man let's go!" Seth said leading the way to the elevator.

A few seconds later they reached the lobby and got off the elevator. As they walked to the door they were stopped by a man they both knew and hated, Agent Will Ford.

"Agent Ford? What are you doing here?" Roman asked confused.

"Agent Reigns, Agent Rollins I've been sent here by our bosses to do an investigation into Agent Reigns' actions on The Authority case." Ford answered.

"I'm sorry, what? Why?" Roman asked even more confused.

"I'm sorry Agent Reigns, but until the investigation is complete you're off the case effective now! While I do my investigation I'll be helping Agent Rollins work the case." Ford explained.

"You can't do this! I've been working my ass off on this case!" Roman demanded.

"Agent Reigns, this isn't up for discussion! The higher ups have already decided what's going on."

"This is crap! I've done nothing wrong! Seth, why aren't you saying anything?" Roman asked noticing how quiet Seth was.

"Agent Rollins was the one who brought everything to our attention."

"He...you what?" Roman asked, as he turned to look at Seth.

"Agent Ford, can you excuse us I need to speak to my partner in private!" Seth said, as he took Roman away from Ford.

"You got me taken off the damn case? Why Seth?" Roman demanded angrily.

"Ro, I did it for you!" Seth answered.

"For me? What the hell are you talking about?"

"Roman, do you remember what I told you when we were on our way to stop the first Authority deal?" Seth asked, hating the hurt look in Roman's eyes. "I told you, that if I thought you were doing what you did on the Foster case, I was going to take us off the case even if you hated me for it?"

"This is insane Seth! This is nothing like that case and you know it!"

"Isn't it Rome? Think about it, you've shut me out and then you get kidnapped...again! Dammit Roman, I did this to keep you from getting yourself killed!"

"Why are you still on the case Seth?" Roman asked, avoiding Seth's accusations.

"I tried to get myself off too, but they refused wanting me to stay on to help Ford bring The Authority down!"

"You mean you get to be the big hero, right Seth?" Roman said bitterly.

"That's not fair Roman! Besides this isn't about me Ro, it's about you!"

"Did you tell them about Dean and I?" Roman demanded.

"No, I didn't Ro, I swear!" Seth answered.

"Am I supposed to thank you for that?" Roman asked sarcastically.

"Ro, I..."

"You know what? Just save it Seth! This isn't about saving me from myself, it's to keep me from ever getting near Dean again! I hope it was worth it Seth, cause you just pushed me away for good!" Roman said, as he pushed past Seth and walked away.

He walked outside and saw a taxi parked, so he went up and spoke to the driver before he got in and they drove away. As Seth watches him leave Agent Ford joins him, neither speak for a few seconds, until Ford does as he pats Seth on the back.

"You did the right thing Seth."

"I hope so Will, I really do, cause I just lost my brother!" Seth said sadly.

"Seth, he needs to understand that this wasn't personal."

"That's where you're wrong Will! I did this because I was worried about him, not the damn case, so yeah it's very personal! I gotta go, I'll see you tomorrow at the station goodnight Will." Seth said sighing, before he walked away to his car, got in and drove away.
