'Okay, I shouldn't be worried about you, but for some odd reason I am.' Nell said when she heard of Eric's plan.
'Oh come on! I practically wrote the Beginner's Guide to Faking Sick! All I have to do is put the thermomameter to a light bulb for a few minutes, take a photo of it, send it to Hetty and I'll be able to stay home all day to play online!' Eric confidently replied.
'Yeah, and if Hetty ever finds out you're faking being ill, she'll be furious!'
'Well, let's hope then she never finds out!'
'This is seriously not going to end well.' Nell muttered. She liked her work partner, but he can be pretty crazy sometimes!
After phoning Hetty to tell her that he wasn't coming in, Eric settled in for a fund day, and he loved it!'
The next day.
'Glad to see you're feeling better, Mr. Beale.' Hetty said.
'Yup! Just had to rest all day, and I'm all better! Eric happily replied.
'Yes, I heard you took 1st place in the big tournament yesterday, good for you!'
Eric froze. 'What?'
'I got a glimpse of the scores on Miss Jones's computer. And unless you never had a raging fever, you definitely lied to stay home!'
'Look, I can explain! There was this huge tournament that I didn't want to miss, and I was tired of always missing them because of work, so I decided to use 1 of my old tricks I used when I was in school to stay home! Please don't fire me.' Eric nervously rambled.
'Oh man. Why do I have to put up with this silliness?' Hetty thought, slightly amused while still being annoyed. After sighing, she told him what she was going to do with him:
'No pay check for this week, and if you try another stunt like this again, I won't be as merciful. Understood?'
'100%!' Then he went up to OPS.
'These kids, I swear!' Hetty muttered while sipping her tea.
