This story is inspired by a pin I saw on Pinterest, if you want to see it heres the link http://ramisiun.deviantart.com/art/Phantom-of-notre-dame-177990220
I commented on it that I was going to write a story based on and here it is, if you found this story by following the link on pinterest thank you. By the way I know that the image has the phantom as Andrew Webber's version but the phantom I'm modeling after is Charles Dance's version.
Imagine if you could meet someone who you knew but lost contact with them until you discovered them again. Well that happened a gypsy girl and lost boy. This is the story of how Esmeralda and Erik became reconnected after prayer is sung into the darkened hallways of the Opera house. This is their story.
"I don't know if you can hear me or if you're really there, I don't know if you'd listen to a gypsy's prayer." A voice slipped through the thin walls of the chapel into the dark passages behind the stone and metal. "Yes I know I'm just an outcast and I shouldn't speak to you, but still I see your face and wonder. Were you once an outcast too?" A figure dressed in a cloak as black as night wondered these passages in search of the voice with the haunting prayer. The song continued " God help the outcast, hungry from birth, show them the mercy they don't find on Earth. Please help my people we look to you still. God help the outcast or nobody will." The voice stopped but the specter didn't it continued down the passage till it came to a small hole in the wall, which it peered through to see a young women kneeled before the cross nailed to the wall. The specter replied in a deep baritone,
"Little altar boy, I wonder could you pray for me, little altar boy for I have gone astray. What must I do to be holy be holy like you? Little altar boy oh let you prey." At the sound of the seemingly angelic voice the girl jumped to her feet and spun around like she expected someone to be behind her. The voice stopped and she spoke
"Who's there, I know you're here so you might as well show your self." Her voice was strong but broke at places revealing her fright. "I'm not afraid of you and I'm not planning on leaving anytime soon so you might as well come out." Unknown to her that the figure which has sung to her from behind the wall stood silent watching her and noticing things he hadn't seen at first. Her skirt was torn and bright colors shone through from the dirt as she moved the silver bands around her bare arms jingled together in a chiming sound. A gypsy he realised. How did a gypsy get into the opera house with anyone noticing? The figure shrugged away the question in his mind. He never really minded having the needy or unfortent in the opera house as long as they didn't get in the way of rehearsals or bother the patrons. Since no one else was in the chapel at such a late hour she wasn't bothering anyone, so he watched her slowly walk around the small room looking for the source of his voice. When she had completed her search she sat back down on the stone floor and leaned against the stone wall and closed her eyes.
The cloaked figure watched her with careful eyes and soon realized that she had fallen asleep. With a sigh the shadow of a man pressed his hand to a stone and a small door in the wall opened. He stood over the sleeping girl before bending over, he paused as her eyes fluttered I her sleep but soon continued to pick her up after she stopped moving.
The songs in this capture are "God Help the Outcast" from The Hunchback of Notre Dame and "Little Altar Boy" is by Andrew Williams
I do not own The Phantom of the Opera nor The Hunchback of Notre Dame if I did this pairing would be cannon. Please review, I'm just starting out so if you have any ideas please let me know
