Rising Boy

The Juliette Shafman who lived in the real world with a mother, a school, and a sport she loved: was long gone. Peter took a last glance to her journal, laying on the unmade bed, tempting him to open it and see the precious words that Juliette had once thought of. Having an inside battle Peter took a deep breath and watched the Lost Boys dance around the big bonfire. Although he left the tent, tired of waiting for Juliette to come back from her infinite bath at the lake, he was not expecting the next. He stared the wild dancing moves of the boys, he even considered joining the big party. What were they celebrating? Peter had no clue.

When Peter considered joining his minions, he remembered how this night was so repetitive. He shook his head trying to get rid of the thought. Neverland is the place where time stands still and everything a kid wants can happen. Or at least that is Peter thought. The music suddenly stopped its violent rhythm and the youngest of the boys went to find a place to sit and continue with their meals, then young Collin came with his arms extended and pretending to be a plane. The little boy even made the sounds of an old engine.

"I forgot my dinner Papa! Mommy wants to see you by the way!" he said, and then left the place to meet with a great meal.

The leader of the Lost Boys made his pipe disappear and headed to his tent. The music, the bonfire, the wild dancing, the wooded sticks against each other, the strange clothing of the boys flying around with them with every weird dancing move; it was so repetitive.

"Hello love, what do you need?" he said doing the same way he would say it to any of the Lost Boys. Not meaning to do anything at all, nit even listen.

"Have you found a way of fixing my heart yet?" Juliette asked, playing with her small knife, on the unmade bed where he had left her journal earlier.

"That I have... Not yet."

"Peter Pan failed." She said, throwing her knife at him. But he caught it obviously. "I was expecting that." She said and let herself drown in the cold bed.

"Say that again" he said and did his smooth walking with the eyebrow game "and I'll cut you."

"Yeah right Panny."

"We have to repair your heart now." He said freaking out in the eyes of Juliette.

Juliette quickly turn to him and gave him the Are You Kidding Me look?

"Okay, I know I said I'll figure this out by my own" Peter stuttered "but when it comes to you, it is just like not knowing what to do. I always know what to do, I am the one who makes Neverland work the way it does. I CREATED NEVERLAND. And now that we know what happened to you, I have no idea of how to fix it. I don't even know you anymore."

Juliette did understand what he meant by not knowing who she was anymore. She had changed quite a lot since she got to Neverland; that were no new news to them.

"Remember my journal?" she muttered mainly to her "Don't read before I select what you must know about me."

"Huh. I know everything!" the arrogant boy said proudly.

"What are the colours from the flag of Canada?" she inquired.

"Trick question. Canada is not a country with a flag."

The Are You Serious look returned to her face. She chuckled and left the bed.

"Okay, if you say so clever boy. But if you want answers, I will get some too.

Juliette sat once again on the unmade bed besides Peter, who was trying to figure out her calligraphy, way of using the paper, and big folded sheets of paper pasted to other papers. Since Peter had no register of a life before Neverland, Juliette had nothing to do else than stare at Peter. She would often want to take her journal back and guide him through the journal.
