"So how many times has this happened?" Carla asked me.
"Only one time before," I lied.
"Antonina," she groaned.
"What?" I asked.
"You need to not go there anymore," she said.
"The sandwiches are so good though!" I exclaimed.
"They never hand you the right order," she continued.
"But this is also where Nick and I went on our first date," I tried to convince her.
"I'll hand you that," she said, "How long have you two been at it?"
"The "it" has lasted for about 2 years," I answered.
"Wow! That's the longest time you've been with a man!" she gasped.
"Oh shut up," I rolled my eyes, "You're so lucky we're on the phone right now."
"You can't land a single punch," she said.
"No, but a truck can always hit your face. I know people, Carla, watch out," I tried to sound serious, "Hey, I'm heading into the precinct now to hand Nick his sandwich. I'll talk to you later."
"Bye!" she sounded like a rich valley girl.
"Bye girrrr!" I imitated her voice.
I tapped the little red phone on my screen and shoved my phone into
my bag. I headed straight to the elevator. I didn't need to tell the front desk who I was because I had been here a million times before.I tapped the correct button and waited. Luckily no one else was in here. It was just me and the elevator music. How nice.
I heard a bell ding and the door opened. I walked down the hallway and enter the precinct. Carisi, Amanda, and Fin were going over some evidence while Olivia and Barba were in Olivia's office. Nick was sitting at his desk talking on the phone.
Carisi noted my appearance, "Hey Nick! Guess who's here?"
Not realizing Nick was on the phone, he turned back around a bit embarrassed, but no one really cared. Nick looked up and smiled before putting his index finger in the air.
This is going to take longer than a minute and you know it Nick, I thought.
I was right. It took 15 minutes to be exact. He looked a little worried.
"Nick, I hope you have 15 fingers," I murmured under my breath.
"Hey!" I said while walking over to him, "I have your surprise lunch!"
"Aww," Carisi cooed.
I looked back at him and he turned his head like nothing ever happened.
"Thanks, but I'm afraid I can't eat right now," he tried not to look at my hurt face.
"Alright," I frowned.
"Hey Nick," Olivia said coming out of her office with Rafael, "Why don't you go home?"
"Why?" Nick looked a little angry.
"Well," she tried to find the words to say, "You've spent the past couple days here. You need a real bed. I know you're working real hard so think of this as a reward."
"Olivia-"
"No," she sternly said, "This is my order now. You have no say."
He looked defeated, "Okay."
While Nick was packing up his stuff Olivia winked and smiled at me.
"Thank you," I whispered.
After Nick was done packing and we exited the building he asked, "Where do you wanna go?"
"Um..." I thought about the possibilities, "Home sounds nice."
"And we're just around the block so it's not that far of a walk!" I added.
He smiled, "Yeah, yeah that sounds great actually."
"Don't worry," I leaned on his shoulder, "I won't hog the covers."
"Who says we'll be sleeping?" Nick winked.
"Well of course we won't be!" I continued, "We have to eat first!"
I held up the bag and showed him where I got it from.
"Tricia's?" he looked shocked, "You really are the best. They have some damn fine sandwiches."
I burst into laughter, "Damn fine sandwiches?"
"You have a problem with them?" he furrowed his brow.
"No, no, not at all! I-It's just the way y-you said it!" I exclaimed.
"What? Damn fine?" he grinned.
"I have never heard those two words come out of your mouth one after the other before," I calmed down a bit.
"Really?" he said, "Well, they're a lot of things I could describe as damn fine."
"Like what?" I looked into his eyes.
"Well, this sunny day, that laughing kid over there, you," he smirked.
"You can't forget the sandwiches of course!" I replied.
"But I prefer one thing. This thing is the only ultimate damn fine thing! That is...you...naked...with me...naked...wrestling," he pulled me in closer.
"We need to hurry up and get home," I flirted, "Let's race! Last one there has to take off there clothes first!"
He didn't answer. I didn't wait for an answer. We both took off running towards the apartment. I was running behind. I could see Nick enter the building.
"Fuck!" I shouted.
Once I was inside the building, I heard an elevator doorbell ring.
"Fuck!" I shouted again.
I dashed up the stairs, hoping I could catch up to him.
All hope was lost when I saw him enter the apartment. I slowly walked the Walk of Shame.
I closed the door behind me when I entered. I turned around to see Nick eating his sandwich.
"But-" I looked at my hand, "How did you-"
He said two words before biting his sandwich, "Police Academy."
"Figures," I rolled my eyes.
Nick soon finished his damn fine sandwich.
I saw him out of the corner of my eye. He wrapped his arms around me and started to kiss my neck.
"Antonina," my name rolled off his tongue, "I believe you owe me something."
His hands started slither up my shirt.
"I'm have to take off my own clothes," I said while removing his hands.
I ushered him over to the couch. He sat down and I stood right infront of him. I removed all my clothes. Nick's eyes lit up.
He spoke up,"This is why you are my number one damn fine."
