It was a gloomy Saturday evening. Clouds hung low and grey over the city; not a single speck of sunlight was shining through. The weather reflected my mood in an uncanny fashion. I had been sighing and staring blankly at the wall while the TV played some show that seemed like white noise to me. I zoned out and focused on the ticking of the clock. It was almost time for Sonny to get home. He said he would leave an hour early for me. I just hoped he stayed true to his word. I wanted to talk to him about my feelings lately, but every time I tried to tell him, my cowardice got in the way.

I sprawled myself over the couch and closed my eyes. This week had been rough. I had no inspiration, and I felt miserable. I accomplished no work at all as far as my novel went. It just seemed like I was digging a hole deeper and deeper into the ground, or hell rather. I heard soft footsteps and our apartment door being opened and closed. I laid still; I wanted to see if Sonny would come to me.

I felt a gentle hand over my stomach. I heard the rustling of a suit as the owner of it bend down to kiss me on the lips. I opened my eyes to see Sonny. I pulled him closer and made him stay. I soon sadly had to let him go.

"Hey, how have you been today?" he set his things down.

I replied, "Fine."

"Okay so what's wrong?" he called from the bedroom. I could hear him taking his clothes off. Was he always so loud?

"What do you mean?" I called back.

"You are never just fine," he said, "You are either good or okay or great...never fine."

"I don't want to talk about it," I shrugged.

He came into the living room in his boxers and an old t-shirt, "Oh come on. Don't be like that. You can tell me anything."

I sighed, "I know it sounds weird, but I just want more from life. I want to become a bestseller! I want to do things and write extraordinary stories that everyone can love! I want to have inspiration. I just feel so lazy and weak."

"But you aren't!" he smiled, "I've known you long enough to know that you will achieve whatever you want."

"I dunno know," I shrugged.

He pulled me in to lay on his chest, "It's going to be okay, alright?"

"Alright," I grinned, "It just feels like I can't tell you these things sometimes. I know you go through so much more than I do everyday. Who am I to complain?"

"Really Jess? You can tell me anything!" he exclaimed, "Everybody goes through tough spots in there lives. I would never judge you on what you complain about, at least not much anyway."

"Hey," I tried to pull away from him.

Sonny kept his grip tight on me, "I was just joking."

I gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Is that all you got?" he smirked.

"Oh what?" I smiled, "Were you expecting more?"

"Depends," he snaked his arms around my body, "What are you willing to give?"

"Well that also depends on something," I said.

He kissed my neck, "And what is that?"

"Are you ready?" I asked.

He furrowed his brow, "What do you mean?"

"I think I just found my inspiration," I lifted his shirt a little.

He got my hint, "Do you need help with writing it?"

"Maybe," I playfully teased him.

He took off his shirt and was only in his boxers. I had seen him like this, and even more exposed, a thousand times, but it still made my face turn red and smile with embarrassment of my blush. I ruffled his hair a bit to give him a sexy I-just-got-out-of-bed-and-wouldn't-you-have-liked-to-have-been-sleeping-with-me look. He chuckled and took off my shirt. I was still in my pajama pants, but he quickly got rid of those too.

I lifted myself off of the comfortable couch and pulled him off as well. I lead him to the bedroom and shut the door behind us.

I was breathing heavily and so was Sonny. We stared at each other a moment before laughing hysterically. The Sun had poked out through the clouds, but it was soon going to be swallowed by darkness.

"So," Sonny said, "What shall we do now?"

I rubbed my stomach,"I want food."

"You always want food," he kissed my lips again, as if our session wasn't enough for him.

"I love you. Thanks for talking with me," I ruffled his hair some more.

"Love you too," he smiled brightly.

There was barely any light in the room, but he still illuminated it. I couldn't tell if it was because of his white teeth or his being itself, but all I knew was that I always had my little sunshine, or rather, Sonshine to get me through anything.
