Kit felt on top of the world by the time they came and pulled him and Persephone from the mausoleum, finding them curled up together exchanging soft kisses and giggling like school children while watching 'A Few Dollars More'. He finally felt a bit more settled, feeling like he'd come home now that they were together. Daniella gave them a slightly amused but also disappointed look.
"Glad to know you kept yourselves entertained," she laughed at the movie playing. Kit carried Persephone out of the crypt, setting them gently on the ground before taking their hand.
"I am sorry, but really? A mausoleum?" He said with a laugh. "Out of all of the places to hide and get trapped,"
"Unfortunately, your car has been swarmed and more than likely marked. I'm afraid we'll have to abandon it for now," Daniella told Persephone.
"Damn, I know you're right but I loved that car," they shrugged. "Vic trapped us in there, she said she was going to come back but I don't think she ever did."
"She couldn't get the door open," Kit said, trying to remember. "Either that or one of my hallucinations sounded exactly like her trying to enter. I've hallucinated her attempting to attack me before, so it's a pretty even-keel chance."
"Wow, they locked you in and then couldn't even get you back out. That's... honestly, if I wasn't so sure they were capable fighters I'd be entirely unworried about this particular group," Daniella snorted. "That idea sounds like it was spawned by Vic."
"It was. Likely an attempt to lock Persephone in with a monster to show them the error of their ways," Kit snorted. They made it out of the cemetery and started walking towards the edge of town.
"We ran here, so you'll be running back. Persephone, would you be okay on Kit's back or is it too cold for you?"
"No, I'll be alright," they said. "And thank you two," Persephone said with a snort.
"Of course, darling. We'll start running proper once we get out of town. Head East first in case you get followed," Daniella said. Kit nodded, swinging their hands lightly between them.
"We should come back here when we are no longer in peril, this place seems nice," he commented as he looked around.
"Denver is a really nice city. The people here are pretty nice, but there's lots of quiet places. I haven't been here in a while, I really want to," they said, holding onto him. He leaned against them with a grin.
"It's a date, then. We can come down and you can give me the grand tour," Victoire gave him a bit of a look, but stayed quiet.
"Also when we get back, I was able to astral project into their meeting, but TLDR, we should be expecting about 30 hunters total. All witch and vampire," Persephone said with a worried look. Daniella nodded.
"We'll discuss it with everyone and get together with Kai, but that's a veritable army of hunters, we need to be cautious. Come on, we need to get back," she started walking faster, the crowds parting for her as she walked. Once they were outside of town, they split up, and Kit knelt down so Persephone could climb onto his back. Once they were secure, he rose and grinned, feeling the buzz in his veins as he tapped into his power.
"Shall we go safe and steady, or would you like to have a bit of fun?" He asked as he started to move, kicking into a jog.
"The safe way is never the fun way," they said excitedly. He was really hoping they'd say that, and he took off as fast as he could, flying through the trees and jumping up into the branches so they were airborne. Kit let out a loop whooping laugh as he swung them up and around, making them laugh wildly. He scaled a sheer cliff face as fast as he could without dropping Persephone, ensuring that even if they were being followed they would shake them. He diverted northwest to start heading to the cabin, smiling widely. Kit didn't hate being a vampire, really, but this was the part that he truly loved more than anything, and he was happy that Persephone enjoyed it with him, they were whooping and laughing from his back, egging him to go faster. He spotted a rather large canyon up ahead, smirking slightly. "Uh, Kit? You sure you can make that jump?"
