Eleven - Betrayal

I walked into the practice room to see Troy running his sweaty hands through his hair and pulling out every occasional strand. I wondered what had happened. Why he was like this. I didn't understand. I wrung my hands together in anticipation of something bad. He turned around and our eyes met.

"Gab, Gabriella. Gabriella." He slurred as if he was drunk. All sorts of thoughts raced through my mind. "What, what the hell have you done?" A look of distraught filled his chocolate eyes.

"What? Why are you starting your sentences twice?" Come on, what's up? I couldn't bring myself to say that out loud for some reason. Although now he was really starting to worry me.

"Are you..." He gestured aimlessly around the room. "Your injury? Snog.. with.. geek.. Your-solo-to-the Von-Trapps?!" His speech varied from normal tempo to slow to unbelievably quick. This was excruciating to listen to - or it was.

That was it. Something snapped inside of me and I just up and left. I couldn't live with a guy, and to even think it was Troy!, who didn't trust me. That was my one vow with dating. The door slammed and showed my anger for me.

"Sharpay, we need to talk. I can't believe you, but you were right about that Gabriella bitch. I don't deserve her. I need better." The air hummed with the mysterious catch that something was about to happen. Something that wasn't your usual High School Musical fest.
