So, was this it? Was this how he was going to meet his end?

Being thrown in a desolate universe and doomed to suffer until he'd turn to dust, it was quite a dark path. This was almost funny to the assassin, the reason he was there was hilarious. All for fucking his Boss's brother right in front of him, it was unimaginable. Despite how things turned out, he still smiled. . Who knew if it was out of an empty habit or if he really was about to burst out laughing?

He looked over his shoulder, not bothering to get up as he watched how Dream attempted to break through the negativity. He witnessed it all. . The fast and calculated movements to escape his brother's clutches, the graceful yet precise manner he materialized his magical bow to start aiming at the dark figure. Bright arrows were shot at Nightmare who easily caught them in his tendrils or dodged them. It was a challenge to defy his own brother in such an atmosphere. . He seemed to struggle as the negative energy flowed through this place, he had tears in his eye sockets since he was determined to save his lover. They were dripping down his face as he continued fighting, not ever thinking about abandoning the one he loved. The guardian really was fighting to death to get him back but Killer could hardly care, even if he tried to.

His feelings would never be 100% true, yet he still cherished Dream. Now that he thought about it, perhaps has it always been a matter of selfishness? Yes, he was selfish but could he help it? He wanted Dream, his aura of pure positivity poured over him like a waterfall of divine water whenever he was near. The little Prince didn't need to do much, his presence was enough to excite Killer. It refreshed him, it made him feel new and intriguing things. . It made him want to be bolder, more daring. It was all for his darling star, all for him. Even if he did bring danger around this time, he knew it has been ecstatic for his boyfriend as well. So, where was the harm in the end? Well, he supposed that his desire was what incited his death.

Ironic.

Killer was thinking back to his past while watching the ground crack and crumble beneath him but he didn't budge from this sight. He observed as the pieces of what once were the grounds that held this world together separated and revealed rivers of radiant lava. Heat spread throughout the fallen land and made the last specks of life burn into nothing.

Thanks to his genocide, his LV got him to resist the unbearable heat. . His HP was slowly draining however.

It was then that Killer started to realize that these were going to be his last living moments. He gave one last glance over at his own soul, which was slowly fading out of existence. The remnants were barely holding themselves together, all scattering apart from the violent attack Killer experienced earlier. The lively glow that his soul always had was also dimming, it was almost like a malfunctioning light. . It was trying to stay warm and alive but it struggled to do so from so much damage. The idea of fighting for his own life did pop in his mind but what did he have to live for at this point? Maybe this is what he wanted by irritating his Boss? In any case, he didn't move from his spot. . Only reaching for his face as he felt the hate dripping from his eye sockets like they never did before. His hands were all black and leaking after trying to cover his orifices, he was barely surprised as his emotions were emptying themselves. Bit by bit.

The slice of ground he was sitting onto began dissipating at it's core, the lava swallowed most of it's surface. . Dangerously swirling close to Killer. The assassin accepted this fate as he stumbled from his trembling surroundings, sliding across as if the lava called to him.

KILLER!

Killer heard a familiar voice scream in horror through the loud sounds of his soul losing HP and the shattering earth at his feet. He could hardly look over but he did see his partner past all of the lava and glitches covering this world. He saw Dream teleporting over, using the last grounds present to make his way to the dying monster. Killer assumed that he must've been fighting this entire time because his clothes were mostly torn and the exposed parts of his body were covered in wounds. Dream was breathing heavily and did as he could by transforming his bow into dual daggers. The guardian cut into the several tendrils coming his way and blocking his path, slicing them quickly enough to reach for his beloved.

Right when he was about to land and get Killer out of this falling universe, Dream saw a gigantic shadow looming above him but he didn't get to react properly to escape it as he was grabbed by what seemed to be a ligament. . It was shaped like a palm and it possessed phalanges. It was huge, dark and slimy. . Squeezing him in place. The guardian did attempt to move away but gave up quickly, he wasn't going to waste his last sparks of energy to escape this way. He had to think wise, not hard. He knew that this was his brother's doing since he was burning from the corruption, the negativity was making him melt, the contact between positive and negative auras literally created smoke. He winced in pain, trying to think of a solution as time ticked away. . Pressuring him to hurry before Killer died along with this AU.

As he thought, his eye sockets widened once he looked up. Before him was the King of Negativity who was so tall that he nearly covered half of the sky, it suddenly made sense that he was squished by a giant hand. In a reflex, he squirmed to slip away. What a pathetic attempt.

Dream, Dream. . Why are you fighting so valiantly for him? He just embarrassed you.

It was Nightmare's voice that echoed in the area. He brought the ant sized monster in his grip closer to his face, looking down at him in disdain.

He can't be saved. You know it.

I- I will still try to save him! I love him!

Heh, he doesn't even-

NOTHING YOU SAY WILL STOP ME FROM RESCUING HIM NIGHTMARE!

Nightmare seemed to be taken aback by the yelling. It was rare to hear Dream raise his voice like that, even rarer to hear him call his brother by his name. This was interesting to the King, the way the smaller was defying him was much different than all of the previous times they fought before. He grinned again then turned his hand around to make Dream look over at Killer who was slowly dusting away.

Well. Let's watch how he wants to live on.

Dream watched, shaking his skull and struggling to break free from the gigantic hand restraining him. He called Killer's name, his bones burning further more under the negative corruption. Killer didn't seem to react at all at his calls, seemingly losing all will. . The boiling river of lava was now surrounding him, roaming closer to his body.

Mm, it doesn't look like he's trying to escape this. Does it?

Dream thought back to everything they've been through together, all of the memories he had with his lover. How the assassin always made his days better with even just a single text, it could've been a single heart emoji or a random letter sent by accident. . It still warmed up his soul. All of those other times they did meet in secret. The games they played, the rare dates they've been to, the chaotic cooking sessions they've experienced, the little flirts and jokes they'd throw at each each other. . It has been difficult but Dream has remembered every moment. Those simple moments they've spent together were golden to him, never would he abandon Killer. He chose to believe that there was good left in him, he knew that he wasn't all that bad. . He loved him dearly.

No. . NO!

Those memories were accompanied by emotions, strong ones no less. It fueled him, he regained energy since all of those thoughts were filled positive sentiments. His body began glowing as he concentrated his magic, enough of it to send a powerful wave across Nightmare's hand who opened his palm from the slight pain. He couldn't believe that Dream gained in strength after everything, he wasn't going to let him go. All of the positivity Dream gathered within his own soul were nothing compared to how negative everything else was but this was his chance. His chance to do something.

Once free from the King's clutches, he quickly teleported over to Killer's location and held him close. He used what was left of his strength to block some rough attacks from his brother with his daggers. Weakly, he opened a portal and threw Killer through it (as gently as possible). He jumped to slip through as well but before leaving completely, he switched his daggers for his bow in mere seconds and aimed at Nightmare's eye socket. He shot several arrows charged with strong positivity, blinding the King and making sure he wouldn't see a thing as both him and Killer vanished.
