There was a long silence.
Dream did not understand at first, not until he saw the way the two looked at each other.
The waiter's face was more than colorful but who could tell if it was in a positive way? His emotions did not reflect any kind of positivity, his hands were tightly holding onto the menu cards, pressing them against his slashed ribcage. The assassin on the other hand, looked more than smug at the waiter's discomfort. . He looked like he was enjoying the way the other tensed up at the simple sight of his face. It seemed that the flaming one wasn't expecting Killer's nor Dream's presence and that resulted with the guardian having a hard time reading the room. . All he could tell was that the colorful one was uncomfortable.
However, as he looked at the waiter with full attention, he recognized him. He did not know how he didn't recognize him before, perhaps it was because his mind was clouded by the date he was having with Killer.
Oh, Color! It's you. It has been a while, how are you doing?
Dream smiled nicely at him in an attempt to soothe his discomfort, he didn't want him to keep feeling down. However Color kept his gaze fixated on Killer. . As if he was afraid of him suddenly doing or saying something. This brought him to the conclusion that the two knew each other. . Why else would Color react this way if it wasn't the case? Killer had quite the appearance but it wasn't that shocking. Was it? Not to Dream at least.
Uh, yeah. It has. .
The colorful one ended up looking back at Dream after a moment but did so quite nervously. Dream was not offended in the slightest, he was the patient kind and gave Color the time he needed to compose himself.
I'm fine.
I didn't know that you worked here.
. . It's a temporary thing.
Color said without much enthusiasm, clearly bothered that he was in such a situation. Who would like it? Being present involuntarily to your crush's and his lover's date? Truthfully, he didn't know if he considered Killer his 'crush' at the moment. . Maybe it was the case before but now? It just seemed like the other was mocking him at that point, as if he knew that this scene was nothing more than torture for him.
He eyed the assassin for a moment then slowly handed him the menu cards, staring at him with uncertainty. Killer simply reached over and took the cards, allowing his fingers to brush against the other's in a. . Teasing manner. This made the slashed one jolt and immediately move his hand away. He stepped backwards, setting a distance between them while he found solace in Dream's side rather than the one he dared to love.
The guardian looked a little confused by what just happened but he disregarded it, thinking that it was a simple mistake and nothing else. He shook his skull and looked over at Color with a tender expression before opening the menu card and analyzing it. It was really cute and entertaining to look at.
So? You two know each other?
. . Yeah.
Yeah~
Dream's attention returned to Killer who was chuckling and looking in Color's direction. He was petting the cute little fur ball that was now contently loafing onto his lap, gifting it sweet caresses and in return he was given lots of purrs of appreciation. . A little moist and pink nose was rubbing against Killer's fingers and that was enough to make his soul squiggle. There was an expression on his face that Dream could not read but that the flaming one could understand perfectly.
