I sat on the carpet looking over my collection of DVDs. The smell of coffee filled the room as I looked over all my options. There were all the classics, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Child's Play, and Halloween.

I picked up one of the newer movies and looked it over, it looked cheesy. My phone suddenly went off making me pull it from my pocket. I quickly checked the context seeing "Dad" across my phone making me smile.

"Hello?" I said picking up the phone.

"Good morning, are you on the road yet?" I heard my father's voice come through on the other end.

"Nah, I'm trying to decide what kinda of movie I should bring to watch on the road. So I'm trying to decide what movie I should bring, any suggestions?" I said glancing back down at the movie.

"How about Wrong Turn? HA!" He cackled as I rolled my eyes. "I rather not be scared of the road while ON the road." I laughed while glancing over the movies again.

"Sorry sorry, you know I'm just messing with you." he chuckled as I sighed before picking up Nightmare on Elm Street.

"Yes, I know. I'll be fine, you know? You don't have to call every hour to check in. I'm not even on the road yet." I chuckled but stopped hearing my dad let out a long sigh.

"I'm well aware you can take care of yourself but It still worries me. The thought of something happening to you while driving all alone at night, scares me." He said slowly.

"Dad, I'll be careful. I won't make you worry more than you have to." I reassured him.

"Promise me (Name)." He said as I sighed. "I promise, Dad," I said with complete seriousness.

"Good, that makes me happy. Now make sure to always keep your doors locked and if anyone comes to your car, stay in it until you know their intentions." He ranted making me chuckle.

"I'm hanging up now, love you," I said smiling.

"Right, I love you too. Be safe." He said before I hung up. I let out a content sigh before looking down at all the movies. After that talk, I didn't really feel like taking any horror movies with me on the road but it would be a while before I get to Dad's place.

I started to place all the DVDs back on the shelf. I could always just download a few movies once I had internet again.

For now, I was doing badly on time, probably from looking over movies for so long. So I needed to get on the road as soon as possible before I got caught up before the afternoon rush.

I quickly gathered the rest of my stuff and left my house behind. It was just a week-long trip driving to my dad's to hang out, so how bad could it be?
