The light of the highway was almost blinding to my tired eyes. The colors of the headlights shined so brightly it made my head ache with sleepiness.
I felt my mind start to drift away and my grip on the steering wheel loosen. I was snapped back quickly as the car started to drift. I blinked a few times before using my hand to whip away the eye boogies from my eyelashes.
"I need a hotel pronto," I mumbled spotting a sign coming up. I squinted to read the wooden sign seeing it read 'Haddonfield' It sounded familiar but I couldn't place it.
I pulled off the highway and took the detour into Haddonfield, hoping the place would have a hotel. As I drove into town I noticed the place was decorated for Halloween.
Large orange pumpkins lined the porches and decorated littered yards. I could even see some people walking around dressed in costume, which I found weird. It was October but it was too earlier in the month for people to dress up.
"Eh, maybe it's some sort of holiday-crazed town." I laughed driving down the road, being careful of the crossing trick-or-treaters. As I stopped to let some kids cross the road I spotted something from the corner of my eye.
By the roadside stood a bloodied guy dressed as Micheal Myers. He definitely looked like the character, he was tall and silent. Even while I stared at him he didn't move at all, just keeping eye contact.
It unnerved me because he still had his signature knife, but this one wasn't the cheap plastic one you find in Spirit Halloween. It looked real as it dripped with fake blood. I bite my lip as he tilts his head at me.
"Yesh, that guy must really love Halloween," I said putting my car in drive before pulling away. I continued my drive down the road slightly more frightened than before.
It was a really average size town so I did see a local hotel eventually. I was about to pull into it's parking lot but was stopped as I heard something hit the side of my car.
I turned my head panicked seeing a girl dressed like Laurie Strode opening my side door. I forgot that the side door doesn't automatically lock.
She was covered in blood and appeared to be injured with a deep knife wound on her side.
"Drive!" She yelled at me, sitting in my front passenger seat. "Uh uh!" I yelled pulling back on the road with a screech, some cars swerved out of the way as I sped down the road.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a flash of white by the road as I drove away.
"Hospital?" I asked her as she gripped her side. "Hospital!" She confirmed as I made a sharp U-turn to where I last saw the hospital. The car was filled with the sounds of the woman grunting in pain and the nervous tapping of my finger on the car wheel.
"I'm sorry I got you involved..." I heard the girl groan. "No no, don't apologize. You're hurt, just keep pressure on the wound." I said speeding up.
"No no, you don't understand. He'll come for you." She whimpered as I pulled into the parking lot for the hospital. I slipped out of my car before running to help the lady out herself. She struggled to stand, her blood staining my car seat.
"You're ok, you're gonna be ok," I said helping her stand before stumbling into the lobby of the hospital. We instantly grabbed the attention of the nurses and some cops, because everyone gathered around.
