Chris and Aurora had a routine every morning. They would both wake up whenever they'd hear one of their kids wake up. Aurora would go get Jasmine and Eric ready for the day while Chris would cook breakfast. He had become a master at making breakfast and didn't even need YouTube tutorials anymore to cook a full meal. Usually once Aurora would make it down to the kitchen with the kids, Chris would be setting the table. They'd all have breakfast together and then put a movie for the kids while they cleaned up.
Usually while Chris cooked he liked to listen to the news. He was plating the last of the food when he heard something that caught his attention.
"Breaking news."
"Daddy!"
"Hi baby!" he said taking Jasmine into his arms. "Aurora listen," he said pointing to his phone.
"With the continued rise of cases of the COVID-19 virus, the American public are instructed that they must stay at home, except for certain very limited purposes."
"Oh my god. This is more serious than everyone thought. We should call our families to make sure they're okay. I'll call my mom and Scott and you call your mom."
They sat Jasmine down for breakfast and Chris fed her while Aurora fed Eric. They called both their families to assure that everyone was good and healthy. They were both glad that neither of them had any upcoming work that they'd have to work around.
Sadly, the two week lockdown was going to last a lot longer than planned. Fortunately they had a house and the resources that provided them with plenty to do while stuck at home. They spent a lot of their time playing with the kids and swimming in the pool. Even their dogs were enjoying all the backyard time they were getting.
"Daddy I wanna fly!" Jasmine told Chris excitedly. Aurora and Eric were currently in the pool while Chris was playing with Jasmine on her playground with Chris. Jasmine had received a large wooden playhouse from Robert for her birthday. They had been so busy with Aurora's tour that Chris never got the chance to put it together. Now that they were stuck at home he finally put it together and Jasmine loved getting to spend most of her day playing on it.
"You wanna fly?"
"Yeah! Wike Uncle Tommy!"
"Uncle Tommy can't fly babe."
"Yes! Like this!" she proceeded to wave her hand around, attempting to mimic Spider-man's hands.
"Ohh you're right. I forgot," he chuckled. "You want me to help you fly?"
"Yes! Yes! Yes!" Chris picked her up in his arms, making her giggle. "Mommy look!"
As soon as Chris saw Aurora's eyes on them, he launched Jasmine into the air. "Chris!" Aurora shouted in a panic. She was ready to jump out of the pool when Jasmine's loud, excited squeal put her mind at ease.
Jasmine couldn't stop laughing as Chris held her in his arms. "Mommy I fly!"
"I saw baby. Just please be careful."
"Okay mommy," she smiled. "Again daddy! Again!" Much to Jasmine' delight, Chris spent the next five minutes throwing her into the air and catching her. She had never been so excited and even made her mom FaceTime Tom so that he could watch her fly like him.
