Chapter 55

"Mommy! Daddy! Wake up!"

Aurora and Chris both groaned at the movement their daughter was making as she jumped up and down on their bed. While she was jumping, Chris quickly snatched her up and brought her down in between him and Aurora. He started tickling her, making her squeal loudly. "Daddy!" she squealed.

He stoped tickling her and instead peppered her face with kisses causing her to giggle. "Good morning my sweet girl," he smiled.

"What are you doing up so early babe?" Aurora asked after she placed a kiss to her cheek.

"It's bubba's birfday!"

"It is! Why don't we go let mommy get him dressed into his birthday outfit and we go make him a special breakfast."

"Yay! C'mon daddy!"

"Wait baby girl," he chuckled. "We still gotta go brush your teeth and give you a bath."

"Okay daddy." Chris lifted her into his arms and carried her to the bathroom they used to get the kids ready for the day.

While he did that, Aurora went to get herself ready by taking a quick shower and getting changed. Once she was all ready she went to Eric's room where he was already wide awake, standing in his crib.

"Happy birthday baby," Aurora cooed.

"Mama!"

She peppered his face with kisses making him let out the sweetest little giggles. Once she heard that Chris had left the bathroom with Jasmine she took Eric in to give him a bath. She thought about changing him into his birthday outfit but she knew he had the tendency to get dirty after every meal so she figured it'd be best to wait until after breakfast.

Once he was all ready for the morning, Aurora carried Eric into the kitchen where Chris and Jasmine were finishing up the pancakes they were making.

Jasmine looked up at the sound of her mom walking into the kitchen. "Bubba! Bubba!"

Chris picked her up and walked over to Aurora and Eric, bringing his whole family in for a hug. "Happy birthday bud!"

Jasmine leaned down, still in Chris' arms, and placed a kiss on Eric's cheek. "Happy birfday bubba!"

They all sat together and ate breakfast while they discussed what the rest of the day would be like. "So my mom, Scott, and Z all quarantined and got tested so they'll be coming over later to cut Eric's cake. And everyone asked for us to start a zoom call so they could all sing along with us."

"Are we still going to announce his godparents like we planned?"

"Of course! I'm so excited to tell them!"

"So am I. I think they're the perfect choice."

After breakfast, Chris went up to get Eric dressed into his birthday outfit. Jasmine wanted to help her mom decorate so she helped scatter balloons around the living room as Aurora blew them up. Since they weren't having an actual party, they just decided to blow up a few balloons and put a banner. They were just going to sit Eric in front of the banner when they called everyone to cut the cake.

"Look at our big boy!" Chris said as he walked in his Eric on his hip.

"Bubba so cute!" Jasmine said as she ran to her brother. Chris put him down and Jasmine immediately wrapped her arms around him and helped him walk to the rug so they could play together. Eric had started walking a little bit but only with someone helping him. He wasn't able to walk on his own yet.

Chris and Aurora both awed at how much Jasmine loved her little brother. She always wanted to spend all her time with him and always made sure to introduce him as her baby bubba.
