Distant barking and shouts had started to fade away as all that was left was the faint sound of sobs. Scott only felt sadness, no anger at the death, no desire for revenge, just misery. Why did this happen to him? Why Jimmy? What did his husband do to deserve this? All he wanted to do was protect Scott!
...
And he was successful...temporarily. However, Scott wasn't mad that he didn't win. He had gotten revenge on Skizz, and that was all that mattered to him.
...
He was home...right?
...
...
...
Right?

Having been put on construction/decorating duty, Scott was attempting to concentrate on placing spruce logs and cherry planks to start building up the walls of their shared house.
However, the persistent nagging from a particular gremlin seemed endless. Scott had all but tuned him out, determined to make progress on the construction.
"Are you gonna ignore me the whole session because I can do this all day!" Grian's voice rang out as he stepped before Scott, his wings fluttering excitedly.
Scott's patience was thin, and he couldn't help but roll his eyes. He knew Grian was intentionally pushing his buttons.
A thud followed as Grian fell to the ground, having been pushed aside by Scott.
"Dude, what the heck! Why would you do that?" Grian protested. Scott glanced down at him, unapologetic. In his view, Grian had it coming. He pushed Grian aside and continued placing blocks, determined to make progress.
In a huff, the avian rides off on a horse that Scott can only assume is Scar's. Scott knew he was probably off to annoy another player just so he didn't have to face either of his partners. At least Scott didn't have to worry about his-
"Hey, Scott!" sigh– Nevermind.
Turning around, Scott sees one of his teammates, Martyn, rushing up in a frenzy. "Woah, okay! What's going on?" Scott asked, genuinely concerned.
Martyn's expression shifted from guilty to a clearly fake look of worry as he responded, "A bunch of creepers are chasing me!"
Scott wasn't fooled. He knew Martyn's penchant for overreacting. However, there was more to their dynamic than met the eye. Two of his group members, Martyn and Tango, had been trying to decipher Scott's true species or abilities. It even became a bet between them.
Martyn was convinced he was some ice-blaze, even though Tango told him that wasn't possible. Meanwhile, Tango thinks he's a shapeshifter, which is true, in a way. Being one of the creators of these life games, Scott could change his appearance and form at the start of each series. Wanting to not be too suspicious, he decided to be a typical winter elf for the first 3 servers, but he wanted to have a bit more fun in Limited Life, so he decided to be a siren-like creature. Also, Scott ensured his siren voice ability was completely disabled; in fact, he didn't even give it to himself to begin with, just in case. Better safe than sorry, right?
"Mr. LittleWood, there are no creepers behind you," Scott stated matter-of-factly, not buying into Martyn's act.
Martyn laughed nervously and scratched his neck. "You're not gonna check?"
Scott deadpanned, leaning to the side to peer behind Martyn. "Yep, no sign of even a single creeper here. Look, Martyn, I have a reason for hiding my species. Have you ever thought I might be protecting you?"
