What Do I Really Want?

If I could really have anything,
What would I want?
Do I want the ability to beautifully sing,
Or have a magical wand?

Should I have mad skills
And rock on the guitar?
Or do I want enough money to pay all my future bills?
Cos' I can become a superstar.

Should I just wish to be an all-rounder;
Have a gazillion things to be good at
Or should I just be the best at one thing and encounter,
Whatever life battles at me with its indestructible bat?

Would I want to be a hero,
And save the world?
Or maybe it's better if in all my tests I get one and two zeros,
Knowledge is power - so I can also use this power to save the world...

Maybe I can have a connection with the supernatural,
I can become a modern-day Zeus,
Then I can beat the meaning of 'literal'!
I can become everyone's muse.

When I say anything,
I mean I can also have infinite wishes and all that.
But now that I think about it, if I do get everything,
What will be special, important or even fun in that!

Until now, if money and popularity aren't enough for me,
What do I really want?
What is something that serves me the most glee?
What's the chorus to this forgotten song?

What is that something that fascinates me?
What is the most major?
What is that something that I desire to be,
If not rich nor popular?

You know I've been thinking about this for ages,
Thinking very high and extremely far,
And I found that instead of worrying about popularity and high wages,
The best thing for a person to be is... who they are.

The question was: If you could have anything, what would you want? And I suppose I just wanted to be me?

I do kind of believe that it is unlikely that one should receive a wish like that, but if we try to imply this to reality, we can learn that even if we cannot have these abilites and things, we can at least be ourselves, something that is becoming rare day by day.

Would you say that you act like yourself?
