Snowflakes dance,
Twirl and shimmer,
Starlight glistens,
So bright, like glitter. The giant moon sleeps,
Behind the dank clouds,
Its eyes take a peek,
Over the hushed town. The silence is eerie,
Freedom is rare,
Memories once forgotten,
Now bring despair. The wind is bitter,
Thick enough to drown,
Our quite cries now quiver,
Handing out bare frowns. No matter what the night brings,
No matter what goes down,
We are children with black wings,
We will strive, even in this town.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This poem is based on my favourite novel: A Place Called Perfect by Helena Duggan. This has always been my most treasured book with the most incredible plot - that gets even thicker in the next two novels of the trilogy! I, personally, suggest this for all readers that long for a multi-genre novel that gleams with eternal mystery, breathtaking suspense, endless humour, excitement and wholesomeness!
Have you read this novel? Would you like to read it?
