The famous smile

"Covering fire! Let's go! Keep moving!"
It was a disaster. Easy Company was being led into a death trap by none other than Dike.
Charlie and Speirs watched from the tree line as dozens of men were being killed right before their eyes. She could barely make out what was going on due to the massive hay bales and artillery.

They were at a stop now directly forward from where they stood, and they could see Dike bombarded around Lipton and Luz, along with a few other men.
"Jesus Christ, keep moving!" Dick shouted in panic.

"Hold up hold up!" Somebody shouted.
"Why are they stopped? For fucks sake-" Charlie cursed angrily, now stalking her way forward slightly.
It was a frenzy of following through with the original plan, or dike falling back which was not included in the plan.

"Captain Winters," Charlie calls out eagerly, glancing to the field and his friend.
"Bloom," he says firmly. Charlie was sure she was going to get scolded for interrupting his view of what was going on.

"Get yourself out there, now!" He shouts.
Without thinking, Charlie darted out there making her way to where Lipton was.
Speirs watched anxiously as she dodged dozens of bullets and artillery from the enemy, and he sucked in a breath when she finally slid next to Lip.

"What the fuck is going on? Why have we stopped?!" Charlie shouts angrily to Lipton and more importantly Dike.

He had a glass doll look on his face, it didn't even seem like he was listening to anything anybody was telling him.
"He just ordered first platoon to attack from the rear," Lipton shouts over the loud noise.
"By themselves? What?" Charlie shouts confused about where he was going with his plan. He didn't even acknowledge her presence.

"Lieutenant, what the hell are we doing? You can't send first platoon out by themselves, they're too short!" Charlie protests angrily.

"You've got to keep moving!" Dick Winters was seething with rage at this point just like every other man in the company.
He had swung his weapon in front of him and began making his way out of the tree line.
"Dick! Captain Winters. Goddamn it, you do not go out there!" Sink and Nixon had already begun running after the captain. "You're the battalion commander, now get back here!"

Winters turned and stopped in his tracks, walking back to his original position.

"Dick, I understand your attachment to easy
company-"

Winters had cut Sink off within seconds and made his way around him. "Speirs! Get yourself over here!" He spat. Speirs was up and over in an instant awaiting orders.
