It was night, Raman and Ishan were lying on the bed to sleep. Ishita was about to take her pillow and go to the couch. “Amma please sleep here, because I want to sleep between you two,” Ishan said, Ishita smiled and lied beside him. Ishan turned to Raman and slept hugging him. She looked on.
Why shall I feel jealous, they are father and son. She thought and slept off. Next morning, they woke up and saw their hands in touch with each other over Ishan. They shared an eye lock but then looked away with a smile. “Raman, we need to talk,” she said, he nodded. The duo got up from the bed and sat on the couch.
They had an awkward silence between them. Ishita looked at him. “Why so silent? Why does this silence have to be in between us in the first place? As if they’re meeting for the first time ever. They are parents to five children, what’s the need to shy away?” she asked placing her hand over his hand. He sighed and looked at her emotionally. “Silence never bothered me, except for the silence you had left behind,” he said.
“But now I don’t have any reason to leave you, instead I have many reasons to live with you. Firstly, none other person can bear us besides each other, secondly we have children, “she said. ”Thirdly we are madly in love with each other, lastly you never divorced me,” he said. They smiled. “But may I ask you one thing? The reason to not divorce me was only Ishan? Or was it love as well?”he asked.
“Partially love, but mostly it was Ishan, I thought you would take him away from me,”she said. ”You did right by taking him away, if he would’ve been brought up here, he would’ve become my old version. But I won’t ever think of taking him away from you,” he said, she smiled slightly. ”Ruhi told me you had asked her to take care of me,” he told her. “As a mother I did say, but there was a wife also who said this,” she said.
He smiled and she smiled back. “Now my birthdays would have much more excitement because my son was also born the same day as me,” he said excitedly, she nodded with a smile. “Then shall I write on one cake happy birthday Raavan Kumar, and on the other happy birthday junior Raavan Kumar?” she asked. He giggled and shook his head. “I might be a ten headed Raavan, but my son is an angel,”he said. She smiled.
