The rest of us stayed up talking and stuffing our faces full of food for a couple hours more before calling it a night.

Everyone had seemed keen to call it a day and throw in the towel shortly after we got back with more fire wood, if it wasn't for me they all would've gone straight to bed.

Truth is, I just wasn't too keen on getting in a tent with Adam and wanted to postpone it as long as possible. I mean hell, at one point I considered the idea of dragging my sleeping bag out and sleeping outside next to the fire or reclining the front seat of Jake's car and locking myself in there for the night.

Don't get me wrong, it's not like I was scared or anything. I trust Adam, I know he'd never purposely try to make me uncomfortable. But judging by the way he acts, I just know he's still got feelings for me. I don't want to lead him on or give him the wrong impression.

"Got everything you need?" Adam asks, checking over his own belongings to make sure he hadn't left anything outside.

"Yep. All set." I smile back. He nods, zipping up the door of the tent before crawling in beside me, flailing around as he hopelessly tries to get into his sleeping bag.

I can't help the laugh that escapes me at the sight of him. "You right?"

"Mhmm." He continues to struggle before finally getting in and settling beside me.
Still warm from the heat of the fire, I've just thrown a blanket over myself deciding I'd get into my sleeping bag later if I got cold enough.

"Goodnight." I say with what I hope is a sweet smile before clicking off my phone light.

"Night beautiful." Is his response which makes me cringe into the darkness of the tent. Don't get me wrong, every girl wants to be called beautiful and I'm no exception to the rule, I just don't want to be called beautiful by him.
Compliments and sweet nothing's very quickly turn into him getting the wrong idea then next thing you know he thinks there's hope we'll get back together.

Silence settles upon us and I find my neck sinking delightfully into the pillow as I relax into exhaustion. My body jolts as I feel him roll over onto his side, his arm snaking around my waist and pulling me into him. I go stiff at his presence, trying to ignore him in hopes he'll get the memo.

Suddenly the silence within the tent becomes defeaning and I can feel the pounding of my heart rhythmically drum in my ears. I consider pulling away and having a go at him but decide the easier option is to play dumb and blank him out. I don't care if Sarah wants to get down and dirty with Liam, tomorrow I'm sleeping in her tent. Liam can fend for himself.

Adam's arm tightens around me, pulling me in closer as I feel a familiar hardness poking into my lower back. Like two magnets repelling, I pull away from him in an instant.

"What the hell are you doing?!" I whisper yell though it unfortunately leans more towards a yell than a whisper.

Even in the darkness, I know his expression resembles one of shock and awkward embarrassment. I can hear it in his tone.

"Shit. Sorry..." "...Sorry Ev, I just thought with everyone else here hooking up maybe you'd be interested in doing the same. You know - for old time's sake." He says in attempt to justify his actions but the nail has already been hammered into the coffin. He's solidified my suspicions. He went and did exactly what I thought he would.

"We've been through this. I don't see you like that! Not anymore." I blurt out in a rush, in attempt to immediately shut him down.

"Yeah, I know. Save it. I've heard it all before." He snaps, bitterness lacing itself in his speech.

"Then why did you do that?!" I practically yell, annoyed at his bitterness. He has no right to act like this.

"Because it might be over for you but it's still not over for me!" "I've never fallen out of love with you Ev." He pleads, the last part coming out as a borderline beg.
