After a long day at work, Austin returned to his small apartment in Memphis. He let out a sigh of relief that the day was over, upon entering and shutting the door behind him Austin noticed a neatly folded-up note lying on the ground.

Curiosity engulfed him as he unfolded the note and read the elegant handwriting. The words read "Meet me at Club Handy today at 7 pm - Aaron". His heart skipped a beat as he saw the name at the bottom: Aaron.

A wave of nervousness mixed with excitement washed over him. He glanced at the clock and realised he had only thirty minutes to freshen up, fix his hair, change clothes and get to the club.

Austin hurriedly prepared himself. He splashed some cold water onto his face and meticulously styled his hair. After much deliberation, he opted for his cream Cuban collar shirt and paired it with black trousers, ensuring that he appeared presentable. In a matter of minutes, he was ready to face the world again.

He quickly gathered his things and headed out the door, making sure to lock it behind him. The sun was just starting to set, casting a warm glow over the city streets. As he walked, he couldn't help but wonder what Aaron wanted to talk to him about, although he had an idea of what it could be, he still felt a sense of eagerness.

Beale Street lay just a short walk away, bustling with energy and life. The sound of music filled his ears, drawing him closer to the club where Aaron awaited him.

Despite the bouncer's stern look, Austin managed to get inside and was greeted with a slow, soulful blues song. The space itself was not as crowded as it usually would be, couples still swayed and twirled near the small stage. His eyes darted around the room, scanning for Aaron's familiar face until he finally spotted him. A sense of comfort washed over him as he approached.

Elvis stood, waiting for him with a warm smile on his face. The nervousness faded, replaced by growing confidence. "Hello," he said.

Aaron's smile grew wider. He placed a hand on Austin's shoulder.

"Thank you for coming."

"Of course, I wouldn't miss it for the world."

The two of them made their way to a small table near the back of the room. Austin's heart thudded in his chest as he followed Aaron to the table and sat down on the opposite side of the table. Austin glanced around the room, hoping to hide his nervousness.

As they waited for their drinks to arrive, Elvis broke the silence "So, how was work today?".

Austin's lips curved into a smile. "Same old, same old. It's been a bit of a slow day."

Elvis nodded in understanding, his gaze momentarily dropping to his hands before lifting back up to meet Austin's.

Once their drinks arrived they spent the next couple of hours in conversation, if anyone would pay attention they would notice that their discussions carried an undertone of intimacy as they exchanged lingering glances and subtle touches of their hands. Elvis couldn't get enough of Austin's presence; the way his eyes sparkled and his laugh echoed mesmerised Elvis beyond words. As the night drew to a close and the crowd dispersed, Aaron and Austin found themselves lost in their little world, tucked away in the corner of the club.

With a smile on his face, Austin couldn't help but ask, "When did you manage to sneak into my apartment building today?"

"I just wanted to see you," Elvis replied, leaning forward and chuckling softly. "And soon as I got out of the house 'round noon, I couldn't resist the thought of seeing you again today," he confessed, his blue eyes meeting Austin's gaze.
