Keith's Pov

As I stuffed the last bit of clothes into my bag, I took a big gulp trying to wash away the butterflies in my stomach. Saying I was nervous was probably the biggest understatement I have ever made in my life. I was so scared about what this week has in store, what if Lance finds out I have feelings for him, what if he hates me when he finds out, what if he thinks I'm disgusting and he tells the whole team and they all hate me too. My chest grows tight and I have trouble breathing, that's when I remember Shiro is gay too and he'd always have my back.

I always know I only like guys and my dad was very supportive but after he died and I was placed in that orphanage I thought others would be just as accepting and supportive as he was, but I was wrong. When Shiro took me in I had completely stopped talking about it by then, but then I found out he was engaged to a man; I finally found someone that was like me. Adam was awesome, I never had a mom but I'd say he was the closest thing I got; and of course Shiro was the fun cool dad.

.

"Lance and Keith to the hanger" Alluar's voice rang out over the intercom. I took a deep breath and stood up grabbing my bag. 'I did this to myself, if I was a little more mature about the situation I wouldn't be in this mess; this is my consequence' I thought as I walked out of my room and to the hanger.

We all stood there waiting for Lance to show, I could see Shiro getting annoyed with how long he was taking. He was about to go get him when Lance came walking through the door as if right on time.

"What's everyone looking at?" he said looking confused

"What took you so long?" said Shiro, glaring daggers at him

"Well you can't rush perfection." he said, running his fingers through his hair with a smug smile. At moments like this I question why I would fall for an idiot like that.

"Well whatever, you're here so let's get on the ship" Shiro let out a big sigh then turned to the little cruiser ship. I pick up my bag and head to the ship. Pidge, Hunk, and Allura all stayed in the castle and waved us off. Coran flu the little ship down to a neither by planet.

"Alright listen up you two, we packed plenty of supplies for two people to last a week; so you're on your own if you go throw all your rations. You each have a first aid kit and a radio only in case of an emergency. As I said before you have one tent but we gave you two sleeping bags so you don't have to share a blanket or anything. And I'm not going to say this again. behave yourselves; please. Shiro finished with his speech right in time. We landed on the small planet, grabbing our stuff and stepping out of the ship.

The planet was an interesting one, the grass was tall and a lot thicker than the grass on earth and very bright red, a really similar shade to the red lion. We landed in a little grassy patch surrounded by trees. They looked a lot like earth oak trees, but with grayish black bark and bright pink leaves. They looked like a fusion of oak and cherry blossoms. The shy was the only thing that looked exactly like earths. Bright blue with soft light pink clouds float above us.

"Alright, that should be the last of it." said Shiro, pulling the last equipment bag down, snapping a few sticks of grass.

"I'll see you two in 1 movement (week)." he said with a slit smug smile

"So this isn't an elaborate prank just to scare us?" Lance spoke up, he had a nervous smile on, rubbing the back of his head.

"No it's not, now you two try not to kill each other, you hear me." Neither of us said a word, we just nodded our heads. And with that he stepped back in the ship and it took off leaving us and an awkward silence.
