Love is such a strange word. Has thousands of meanings, yet none of them truly capture its essence. love is pain, the kind of pain that swims freely in your heart, ripping it little by little. if you don't feel pain, then you don't love that person, you may just be enjoying their company.

Jimin learned that the hard way. Learned how to surrender himself to sorrow, and how to make tears his friends. This was how he understood the meaning of love.

He yearned to be with Jungkook, to love him, and to be there for him. yet the fear of losing him, even if it was just as a friend, held him back from taking that one step forward.

In his next life, he wished to be born as a girl. Maybe then, and only then, would he have a chance – a chance he knew he'd never have in this life.

As usual, Jimin was sitting in his favorite place, his phone playing his favorite serie. But his mind was elsewhere, lamenting his cruel fate that had led him to fall in love with his best friend.

"What's up, bro?" came a cheerful voice. Jimin lifted his eyes from his phone screen to meet his two friends.

"Nothing much, just watching my favorite serie," answered Jimin.

Taehyung started to eye his short friend up in down, "Aren't you tired, you need a man in your life, Jimin. What about I find one for you? I can't let your beauty and sexiness go to waste,"

He was right, though. Jimin had never entered any relationship, burying himself in loneliness. "Yaaah, stop checking me out like that, it's weird," Jimin retorted.

"Why? We're both men, we have the same body, nothing new."

"Oh, right. Tell that to your boyfriend." At that, he stopped talking, remembering that his lover was right beside him.

J-Hope burst out laughing at their stupidity. "Anyways, Jimin, let's go eat, it's lunchtime. Jungkook is already waiting for us," J-Hope remembered leaving Jungkook alone to wait for them.

At his statement, Jimin felt something, a fear of getting excited over meeting the person he loved, only to have his hopes crushed when he wouldn't find him there – Jungkook had a habit of ditching them. "Don't worry, he won't be there. Maybe he's with some girls enjoying his time by now," Jimin said, masking the hint of disappointment in his voice.

Tae eyed the younger man with suspicion in his eyes. He wasn't a fool; he knew something was wrong with his friend. However, he decided to wait for Jimin to open up. "But he said he has an important announcement. Maybe he bought a new car," he said, attempting to steer the conversation away from Jimin's uneasy feelings, which were clearly showing on his face.

"Yeah maybe, after all he treats money like a rise. Should I ask him for a car too?" J-Hope joked.

Jungkook's family was wealthy, with their own globally renowned company.

He enjoyed life to the fullest before eventually taking over the family business. Jungkook was never arrogant, perhaps a bit of a playboy, but not arrogant. This was something his friends admired about him.

The three boys headed to the cafeteria to grab a bite to eat, and Jimin couldn't help but notice that Jungkook was sitting at their usual spot. This struck him as odd, and he regarded Jungkook with suspicion.

As the older man saw his friends entering, he started to shout for them to come over. "Guys, come here. I already bought our lunch!"

"What's up, guys?" Jungkook greeted them with enthusiasm, his eyes shining with joy.

However, his behavior didn't sit well with Jimin. "What's up with you, Hyung? You're acting weird today," Jimin remarked as he took the first bite of his food.

Jungkook didn't seem to mind Jimin's comment and got straight to the point which hurt the younger man, but not as bad as what he said next. "So, guys, I have news for you all. Ummm, I am in love. And before you say anything, I already confessed to her, and now we are together."

No one heard the sound of the heart that had just broken. Jimin tried desperately to hold back his tears, and the feeling of Nausea didn't help him one bit.

A long silence hung over their table. "Wow, is this the end of the world? Are you okay? Are you sick?" Taehyung joked.

"Stop it, Tae, I'm serious. I love her. She was going to join us, but she had to tell her friend about us too,"

"Congratulations, man. I'm happy for you. Finally, you've grown up," J-Hope said, genuinely pleased for his friend,

"Yaaah, I'm older than yah yah. Jimin, where are you going?" Jungkook stopped halfway when Jimin abruptly stood up and ran, clutching his stomach. Concern flashed across Jungkook's face. "Is he sick? Is the food not to his liking?" he wondered aloud.

They all stood up, concerned for Jimin, and started to go after him. What if he was poisoned or something? However, halfway there, a girl came running to Jungkook and threw herself into his arms. Jungkook was speechless but didn't want to let go of his lover.

Jungkook didn't know what to do. His girlfriend, Lisa, was being clingy. Before he could explain anything to her, J-Hope interrupted him and said that it was okay for him to stay with her, while they would go and look for Jimin. And that was all it took for Jungkook to choose to stay with his girlfriend and forget about his best friend.

Jimin was okay knowing that his best friend was fooling around with different girls, but he wasn't prepared for the pain of hearing Jungkook declare his love for someone else. someone that it's not him, It hurt him deeply.

he was throwing up the little food he ate while crying his pain away. "It's going to be okay. It is going to be okay," Jimin repeated to himself, his hand on his chest as if trying to soothe the pain in his heart.

The sound of his sobbing was muffled in the small restroom meant for the teachers. He kept one hand covering his mouth, just in case someone was looking for him. He was in no state to be found.

The couple looked for him everywhere but found nothing. Soon, they got tired and headed to their class. "Let's go, we can check on him later," Tae suggested, worried about Jimin but not knowing where else to look.

Jimin fainted right then and there. The emotional breakdown was too much for him, and his weak body didn't help in it at all. Something was wrong with him, he knew it, but he wasn't ready to find out just yet.
