Two weeks had passed, and Jimin was growing weaker with each passing day. Jungkook, too, was losing hope as he saw Jimin's condition was getting worse. The doctor informed him that they needed to do the surgery by the end of the week; if they waited any longer, neither Jimin nor the baby would be able to survive.
Jimin had accepted his fate a long time ago, but Jungkook didn't. He asked his father to connect with the best doctors in Korea, but still, there was no one able to perform the surgery, stating that Jimin's condition was already too critical. Even if they tried, they wouldn't succeed.
Their only hope was Doctor Mike. He used his father's connections to try and connect him, but to no avail. All he could do was convince his assistant to send him some documents about Jimin's status. However, it's been a week already, and he doubted she even sent them.
Tomorrow, he booked a flight to go there and do whatever it took to bring that arrogant doctor back with him.
The flight was calm, but Jungkook's heart was heavy. He didn't want to leave Jimin's side, especially now, but he knew he needed to.
"He's not alone, Mom and Jin are with him," he reassured himself.
After the flight landed, he went straight to his hotel room to get some rest. It was already night in America.

At the hospital where Jimin was sitting at his bed, while Jungkook's mom was feeding him and Jin was just sitting at the corner, staring at his phone.
"Hyung, come eat with us," Jimin proposed.
"No, I'm not hungry. Just eat," Jin replied, waiting anxiously for a call from Jungkook to settle his heart.
"Just let him be, dear. Eat. I prepared all of this for you," Jungkook's mom said, giving him a sad smile.
"Umm, it's yummy. It reminds me of my mom's," Jimin said but regretted it afterward.
"Now, now, I feel offended. Aren't I your mom too?" the woman said with a pout on her face. Jimin shook his head in denial.
"No, no, I just missed my mom. I've always wished to have a mom like you though. I am lucky to have you," Jimin said and hugged the old woman.
"I was just teasing you, but do you want me to call you family?" she asked.
"No, please don't. My dad made it clear for me not to show him my face, and as for my mom, I prefer if she never knew anything about me. I don't want her to feel guilty more than she already does," Jimin replied.
"It's his loss, anyway. Now you have a bigger family; you have me, Jungkook, Jinsoo, even Jin over there," she said, smiling. Jimin took her words to heart, feeling reassured that he wasn't alone in this.
"I know. I don't know what I am going to do without all of you, even you, my sweet Jungmin," Jimin said, caressing his swollen tummy.
"I want to see my friends though, Tae and Hope Hyung. It's been too long since we talked. I bet they are worried now. I've been ignoring their calls since I came here," Jimin said, putting his head on the ground.
"Don't worry, dear. They won't be mad at you if you tell them what's happening," Mrs. Joen said, gently caressing Jimin's hair.
The door brushed open suddenly, revealing two men. One was crying, and the other had two red, tear-filled eyes. Tae ran to Jimin and sobbed on his shoulder.
