Chapter 9

(First Person POV)

I quickly check my outfit in the mirror before I head out to meet Rooney. I'm even more nervous, and I wanna make sure I look okay. I went for a casual/professional look, if that makes sense? I grab my bag and hurry out of the door.

(Rooney's POV)

It was really hard to leave the house without my siblings following me. Luckily, I managed to convince them that I was just going to a hardware store for invention related things, and that it'd be boring. Plus, they still need to practice their lines, I'm all set on mine. I make sure to bring my wallet of course, can't buy food and drinks without money! I head outside, and make my way towards that little cafe to meet Y/N. I'm really looking forward to talking to her, I bet she's even cooler in person. And if everything goes well, my siblings will think she's cooler in person too.

(Second Person POV)

You arrive at the cafe and look around for a blue Doodlebop, but you don't see him. You're the first one there. You look around and choose a table in the corner, a little out of the way and hidden from the other tables. I mean, he's famous, and you know that. It wouldn't be a good conversation if people kept coming up and bugging you two. You sit down and pull out your phone, you'll wait until Rooney gets here to order anything. After a short bit, Rooney walks in and looks around. You give him a little wave, he smiles and strolls right over. You're a bit stunned that you're even talking to a Doodlebop, let alone having a one-to-one conversation with any of them. 

He seems to notice your expression, he chuckles a little, "What? Did you think I was going to ghost you or something?"

You blink at him, then quickly shake your head, "N-no! I just didn't really... think that I'd ever have the opportunity to talk to you or your siblings..."

He chuckles again, a little more this time, "Well, you sure have the talent! I think you have a nice style to you too. Oh, and Deedee and Moe think so too."

"That I have talent or that I have a good style...?"

"Both!"

You look out at the other tables, seeing food be brought to a group. You look back at Rooney, "Do you want to go order?"

"If you're coming with me to get something yourself, I don't want to be the only one eating while we chat." He seems cheerful, which eases your nerves a little.

"Of course, I'm hungry as hell." 

Both of you get up and head over to the counter and order hot beverages and bagels. They hand your drinks to you two quickly and let you know that they'll bring the bagels over to you when they're ready, so you head back to the table.

He sets his drink down, both of them are too hot to drink at the moment. He looks up at you, "So what made you want to start making covers of our music?"

"Oh, well, it was a pretty boring day.. I didn't have work, and I had no plans. I was clicking through channels, and I stumbled across your show. So.. I decided to make my first cover of your music."

"Aw, I'm glad you liked our show and music that much! We would've never come across your videos if you hadn't."

"Yeah... those covers are pretty much what made me blow up..." You look at your drink with a bit of a saddened look.

"Well, don't let that get you down" Rooney tilts his head so his eyes are eye level to yours, he gives you a caring look, which makes you smile. He smiles back, "That just means you can get your own stuff out there better now"

"Yeah.. But I don't think it'll be as popular as the covers."

"Well, who knows? Once again, you have a lot of talent.. You just need a way for more people to see that."

You nod, "Yeah, you're right."

He gives you a bit of a mischievous look, which catches you a bit off guard, "Which is whyyy..." He leans a little closer as he drags out the 'Y' sound, "You should stop by Doodlebop Central to make some music there instead!"

You're stunned again, you blink at him, "...Like.. For real..?" He nods, you blink again, "..When..?"

He thinks for a quick moment, "Hmm, how about.. Right after this?"

Your jaw drops, "..You'd really let me come over? After we just met?"

"Well, yeah, that's why I said it" He chuckles a little, "I just wanted to talk to you in person first, and you're really cool. You're humble, you're creative, and I know you aren't just making music for money, are you?"

"No- I make it because I enjoy it"

"Which is what I enjoy about your videos! Plus.." He leans a bit closer and lowers his voice, "Moe and Deedee don't even know I'm meeting with you" He lets out a bit of an evil sounding chuckle, you didn't know he was a bit of a trickster like his brother seems to be. 

You smile and chuckle, "Really..? So they'd be shocked to see me?"

"Of course!! In our house, Y/N, you're the celebrity!"

So after a little more waiting, your bagels arrive. You and Rooney continue to chat as you eat and drink, and then you go to the counter to pay. You feel a hand on your shoulder, and you turn to see Rooney looking down at you. He's really tall. He steps in front of you, up to the counter. Him and the worker talk just quietly enough to where the sounds of the other customers talking drowns them out, so you peek around Rooney to see what he's doing, and you see that he paid for both of you. As you both walk out, you thank him and say he didn't have to pay for yours too. He just chuckles and says that he did have to. 

So, you walk beside him all the way back to his house, and then he holds the door for you. The house is bigger than it looks on TV, and the colors seem a bit brighter too. You sit on the couch as Rooney tells you to wait there, and bounces off and around a corner. You wait a bit, hearing the three siblings talk faintly, then their voices get louder. You look back towards where you last saw Rooney, you can hear him talking about practicing a song. So that's what he's telling them to get them out here, huh?

Rooney smiles at you as he comes around the corner, and then steps to the side and looks at his brother and sister, who both stop dead in their tracks when they see you. Deedee is the first to get over the shock, her expression of shock and joy turning into excitement, "Y/N..! It's really you!"

You smile a bit, nervous at the attention you're getting, "Yeahh, it's really me.."

She runs over to you, "I love love love your music videos!! ..Do you like hugs by any chance?" Her smile is huge.

"Thank you, and I do enjoy a hug every once an-" She nearly tackles you with a giant hug, which gets both of you laughing.

Meanwhile Moe finally reacts, he looks at Rooney, "..Did you bring her here..?" Rooney nods, Moe looks at you, and then back to Rooney, "And.. she wanted to come here...?"

Rooney chuckles, "Of course, Moe! She's a big fan of us too, you know. Just like we're a fan of her. Now go on, go say hi!"

He gives Moe a small push, and he takes a few steps after to get a bit closer. Deedee sits up a bit, and you look at Moe. He stares for a second, and looks back at Rooney, who gives him a nod. Deedee laughs and sits up all the way giving her brother a caring smile, "Oh Moe," She looks at you, "He's a little shy.."

You look at Deedee, then you stand up and take a shy step towards Moe, "Hey.. I get a little shy too, so I get it... I'm Y/N, as you probably know already"

You hold out a hand, he looks at it, then back up at your eyes, then back at your hand. He reaches out to shake it, stepping just a bit closer to do so, and he looks back up at your eyes, "..I'm Moe"
