The dreaded Sunday had arrived and to make it worse it was pouring rain outside. Eleanor had a bad feeling about the conversation. As much as she wanted it to be good she couldn't help but think the opposite.
She had woken up that morning feeling a little stuffy. She cleaned up around the house even though the house was practically spotless. Her mind was running wild. She was scared, she didn't want a repeat of the time Taylor yelled at her. It was around 12pm when there was a knock on the door. She took a deep breath and opened the door. Hey, come on in. Would you like something to drink? She didn't know how to greet her ex-wife so she just stepped aside and let Taylor come in. No I'm good. Just want to get this over with. Nolan is with my mom but she said she would drop him off at around 3.
Okay that's fine. Let's go sit on the couch. Once both girls were seated, facing each other there was a few minutes of awkward silence. So- I- they both spoke at the same time. You can go first Taylor said to her. I just wanted to say that I'm very sorry for the messages I sent you. I was obviously drunk and I wasn't thinking. I'm sorry if they made you uncomfortable. Eleanor signed she felt like she was talking to a wall.
I understand. But I think it's best if we just text about anything related to Nolan. There really isn't much that we should even be talking about because we are divorced. I'm sorry that I don't feel the same way anymore. I'm trying to move on and I can't do that if you keep texting me thing like that. If you want closure I will give it to you but I don't see us getting together again.
Her response was certainly not what she expected. Oh okay. I'm sorry I was making you feel that way. I would certainly like to have that closure. Eleanor was trying her hardest to not cry but her eyes were already watering. You never gave me the reason for the divorce, no matter how much I pushed you.
Taylor took a deep breath. I was never about you. You didn't cause the divorce, it was all me. I wasn't doing good mentally and I didn't want to put that on you because you had just given birth to Nolan but it started a little before your third trimester. I thought it was for the best.
So you didn't want to be with me when I was pregnant. You should have came to me I was your wife. You were just fooling with me when we started talking about giving Nolan a sibling, all that time you wanted out. I can't believe you. I think it's time you left and don't worry, she wiped her tears, I will only text you anything Nolan related. I hope you find someone that you actually want to be with.
I never meant to hurt you. I didn't come here with those intentions Taylor said standing up and walking to the door. She turned around and looked at Eleanor, who was wiping her tears. She felt bad but it was what needed to be said.
After Taylor had left Eleanor decided she was going to take a relaxing bath to calm her down. Andrea wasn't going to be here until a couple hours later. The tears wouldn't stop coming though. She didn't think she could be more heartbroken than she already was. She made herself a nice lunch which was really a sandwich with some potato chips. She just wanted Nolan home and for the day to be over. She sent Taylor a quick message deciding she wasn't up for seeing her anytime soon.

Surely enough, Andrea was knocking at 3 on the dot. Hello my baby I missed you so much! Did you have a good time with nana she said to the happy baby. The fact that Nolan still couldn't understand what was going on with his parents gave her relief. He's just a baby, he doesn't need to worry about that stuff.
So I actually wanted to talk to you about something she said to her ex-mother-in-law. The conversation I had with Taylor today wasn't what I expected and I was wanting to ask you if you could be able to pick Nolan up here and leaving him with Taylor on her days?
Yes of course. I'm sorry about Taylor. If there's anything you need or anyone to talk to you know I'm here Andrea said to her. Thank you Andrea. I couldn't have asked for a better nana for my son she said pulling her into a hug.
