It had been 2 months since Hayden ran into Taylor, Lily gave birth to their baby boy 3 weeks after. The girl never got a text from Taylor until a week ago. They decided they were going to meet Taylor at her apartment and that they were going to take the kids. They never liked to leave the kids with anyone if they didn't have to. Hayden had let Taylor know about it but of course Taylor was fine with it.
It was now only a few hours before they would start getting ready to leave. Hayden was out with Amelia, they didn't want to show up empty handed so Hayden went out quickly to find something to take. "What do you think sweet girl, what should we take to Taylors?" To which Amelia responded with random babble. "You're so right, I was thinking that too."
She decided a bottle of white wine and a box of chocolate. "Let's hope your mommy is fine with what I got." Once she got home, Lily was already doing her makeup and their newborn, Luke, had already been changed and was ready to go, the girls praying he wouldn't spit up milk. Lily smiled at Hayden and stopped doing her makeup to tell Hayden, "you should start getting ready we are leaving in an hour" Hayden nodded and headed to the bathroom. They were dressed casual, Hayden opted for a black long sleeve shirt, straight jeans, black dr Martens, and a black leather jacket. Lily on the other hand opted to wear a white shirt, black pants, and a grey blazer, with her converse.
An hour later, all four of them were in front of Taylors front door, Hayden had Luke on her chest in a baby carrier while Lily was holding Amelias hand and the wine and chocolates. They were standing there for a couple minutes, Hayden and Lily sharing a look, until the door finally opened. "I'm so sorry, I thought I almost burnt dinner. Come on, Come in. Thank you for coming, how have y'all been?" Taylor seemed to be in a hurry.
"Hey it's fine, how are you." Taylor pulled her in for a hug and once they pulled back Hayden looked at lily and said "this is my wife Lily." To which Taylor said to Lily, "Hi, it's so good to meet you." Hayden then grabbed Amelia's hand "this sweet girl is Amelia and this little man is Luke, who we totally didn't name after my favorite movie series." Hayden pulled Lily into her, holding her by the waist while Taylor bent down to introduce herself to Amelia. They looked at each other and smiled. "Well hello princess, you look so pretty in your dress. I got you a special surprise." She stood back and looked at Hayden and Lily, "If that's okay with you guys."
Lily spoke up "oh of course. Here we brought you these too." After chatting for a little bit and Taylor giving Amelia her surprise, which was a Bluey toy (Taylor had seen the bluey shirt the toddler was wearing when she ran into them), they were sat at the dinning room table. It was a little awkward. "Have you continued to play guitar" Taylor asked Hayden. She cleared her throat and said "I mostly just play kids stuff for Amelia now. Lily and I decided that if we were going to start a family we would be there 24/7. And I honestly didn't see myself playing around for a long time."
Taylor nodded, her heart breaking seeing how in tune Lily and Hayden were. She had seriously regretted what she said that night so many years ago but there was nothing she could do about it now. You could see it from miles away just how much Hayden loved Lily and her family. She was definitely going to down that wine bottle they brought.
A few minutes later Luke had started to whine, it was nearing his feeding time. Lily excused herself from the table and made her way to the couch. She was breastfeeding and she wasn't comfortable doing it at the dining table of a stranger. Hayden followed after her, leaving Amelia with Taylor while they got Luke settled. Hayden then made her way back to the table, "sorry about that. He's very head strong and is impatient."
Taylor smiled, "it's alright."
After they had desert Hayden and Lily headed home. They said their goodbyes and made their way out. It wasn't until they were half way through the street that they realized they forgot Amelias toy. "You guys stay here and I'll go get it. I'll be quick." Hayden gave Lily a peck and made her way back, sprinting. She knocked at Taylor door, the girl opened the girl with a surprise look on her face. "Hi, we forgot Amelias toy."
