Fury, frustration etched on his face, sat in his dimly lit office at the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters. He had just received the files Lilik had retrieved from the flash drive, but as he tried to access them, he hit an impenetrable wall of security. It was a security system he had implemented himself, a fail-safe designed to keep sensitive information out of the wrong hands.

Swearing under his breath, Fury leaned back in his leather chair, his eye patch gleaming in the low light. He knew that the contents of that drive were crucial, potentially a game-changer in the world of espionage. But he was locked out, and there was no way in.

After a moment of contemplation, Fury decided it was time to escalate the matter. He stood up and briskly made his way out of his office, down the labyrinthine corridors of the headquarters, and into the heart of the intelligence agency. His destination: the office of Secretary of Defense Mohammed Roslin.

As Fury entered Roslin's office, the Secretary was in the midst of a high-stakes video conference with the World Security Council. The room was filled with the tension of global politics, and Roslin's stern expression showed that he meant business.

Fury cleared his throat, drawing Roslin's attention away from the screen. The Secretary raised an eyebrow in silent inquiry, and Fury knew he had only moments to make his case.

"Roslin," Fury began, his voice low and urgent, "we've got a problem. A big one. The files we acquired from the Lemurian Star have some highly classified information, and I can't access it. It's like I locked myself out intentionally."

Roslin's gaze narrowed, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the polished wooden desk. "You're telling me that we risked an international incident to hijack that ship, and now you can't even open the treasure chest?"

Fury nodded gravely. "Exactly. And what's worse, I believe this information is tied to something bigger, something that could affect global security. We need time to crack this, to figure out what's going on."

The Secretary sighed deeply, his shoulders sagging as he considered the gravity of the situation. "Alright, Fury. You've got your delay. But I have a favor to ask in return."

Fury arched an eyebrow, curious about the nature of this favor. "Name it."

Roslin's expression softened, and he leaned back in his chair. "My niece's birthday is coming up, and she's a huge fan of this hero, Metal Man. I hear he's one of yours."

Fury couldn't help but smirk beneath his eye patch. "Aqil Muhtadi, alias Metal Man, is indeed one of ours. You want him to make an appearance at your niece's birthday party?"

Roslin nodded. "Exactly. It would mean the world to her. You get me Metal Man at the party, and I'll buy you the time you need for this little secret of yours."

Fury extended a hand, sealing the deal with a firm handshake. "You've got yourself a deal, Roslin. Metal Man will make sure your niece's birthday is one to remember."

With their agreement settled, Fury left Roslin's office, knowing that he now had the precious time he needed to unlock the secrets hidden within that impenetrable flash drive. As he made his way back to his office, he couldn't help but wonder just how deep this rabbit hole went and what kind of challenges lay ahead in deciphering the mysterious files.

Arif visits the VA, where Nasrullah / Nas is providing trauma counseling to other veterans suffering from PTSD. After the group meeting, Nas reveals to Arif that he lost his friend Illiyin in battle in Somalia after he was shot down in the air with an RPG. The emotional weight of Nas's revelation hangs in the air, the pain of loss evident in his eyes as he recounts the tragic event.

The room, filled with the muted sounds of veterans sharing their own stories, becomes a solemn backdrop to their conversation. Nas, his voice steady but tinged with sorrow, continues, "Illiyin and I, we were like brothers. We went through hell and back together. When that RPG hit our chopper, it felt like the world had exploded. I managed to survive, but Illiyin..." He pauses, struggling to find the words to convey the depth of his loss.

Arif, moved by Nas's raw emotion, places a hand on his shoulder in a gesture of support. "I can't even begin to imagine what you've been through, Nas. Losing a brother in arms, it's a pain that never truly goes away."

Nas nods, his gaze distant as he recalls the memories of their time together. "You're right, Arif. It never does. But you know what's strange? Despite it all, I still love flying. It's like a part of me is up there with Illiyin, soaring through the skies."

Arif is intrigued by Nas's resilience and his unwavering passion for aviation. "That's a remarkable way to honor his memory, Nas. Flying, even after everything you've been through, takes courage."

Nas offers a small, melancholic smile. "It's the only way I know how to keep him alive in my heart."

As their conversation deepens, Nas turns the question back to Arif, his eyes curious. "What about you, Arif? What makes you happy? You've been through your own battles, I can tell."

Arif's expression grows contemplative. He has faced adversaries that seemed invincible, fought battles that pushed him to his limits, and sacrificed more than he ever thought possible. But happiness, the pure and simple joy that many take for granted, feels elusive.

After a moment of silence, he admits, "I don't know, Nas. I've spent so much of my life in the line of duty that I've forgotten what it's like to be truly happy. Maybe it's time I figure that out."

Nas nods, understanding the weight of Arif's words. "Well, when you do, Arif, I hope you hold onto it with everything you've got. We've seen enough darkness to last a lifetime; it's about time we find some light."

Their conversation lingers in the air, a shared understanding between two veterans who have faced the horrors of war and are now navigating the complex path to healing and happiness. In the midst of their pain and loss, they find a glimmer of hope, a bond forged through their shared experiences and their determination to find meaning in a world scarred by conflict.
