With prom night rapidly approaching, Chaewon spends the next couple of weeks caught up in meetings and phone calls and spreadsheet-making, her contact with Yunjin limited to stolen moments in the hallway and murmured conversations before seventh period. It's during one of these little meetings, this time in the little alcove under the stairwell where vulgar things are scrawled on the walls and gum is stuck to every flat surface, that Yunjin proudly announces she's picked Jia as her prom date.

"Jia?" Chaewon repeats a little too loudly.

Yunjin falters, "Um, yeah."

Chaewon clears her throat, doing her best to sound nonchalant, "Why Jia?"

"You told me I should go easy on her and not stay mad about the library thing," Yunjin scratches the back of her neck, "I thought you would be proud of me."

Chaewon curses her past self. She did say that, didn't she? It's not that she's worried about Yunjin cheating on her, not really. After all, Yunjin's reputation precedes her, and if Chaewon was going to get upset about every other girl Yunjin has hooked up with, she'd never be happy again. What makes Chaewon feel ill is not the idea of Yunjin liking another girl, but Yunjin liking another girl the way she likes Chaewon. Getting all excited when someone else looks her way, rambling for hours on Kazuha's bedroom floor about what it feels like to hug her, showing someone else stupid videos with titles like "TOP 10 DEADLIEST PREDATORS OF THE CRETACEOUS PERIOD - NUMBER 7 WILL SHOCK YOU!" and insisting that they watch all the way through. Chaewon's not so worried about Yunjin sneaking out of prom to make out with Jia under the bleachers, it's the idea of Yunjin attempting to dougie with Jia laughing by her side that makes Chaewon a little nauseous.

Still, with Yunjin standing awkwardly in front of her waiting to be praised, Chaewon's not quite evil enough to ruin everyone's prom plans. Instead, she dedicates herself to perfecting every detail of the event. The more time she spends making sure the chair sashes match the table runners, the less time she spends lying in bed at night in the dark thinking about Yunjin showing Jia her attempt at the worm.

When Prom Night finally comes, Chaewon shuts her phone off and holes up in her room with a pint of mint choco ice cream and Yerin Baek at full volume. Just as she's starting to get comfy under her blankets, her wallowing is interrupted by a ring of the doorbell. She makes the executive decision to ignore it, and not ten seconds have passed before another five rings sound in quick succession. By the fifteenth ring, Chaewon is pretty sure she's about to get kidnapped. Can you even get kidnapped from your own home? She drags herself out of her nest of misery and peers through the window to get a good look at her attacker.

Huh Yunjin, who was supposed to be escorting Jia to the dance floor right about now, is standing on Chaewon's doorstep dressed in some kind of Halloween costume, complete with tassels hanging from her very prominent golden shoulder pads. She's hiding something behind her back, which is never a good sign when it comes to Yunjin.

Sighing, Chaewon answers the door, "What are you doing here?"

"I came to take you out," Yunjin says proudly. She takes her hands out from behind her back, revealing a pair of glittery plastic shoes on top of a heap of blue fabric. Yunjin wiggles her eyebrows, "If the shoe fits."

The situation dawns on Chaewon, "You're supposed to be Prince Charming?"

"I am Prince Charming," Yunjin pouts, "Aren't you the one who thought of the fairytale theme?"

"I don't understand," Chaewon shakes her head, "Shouldn't you be with Jia right now?"

"I told her I got sick," says Yunjin, "She won't think twice about dancing with someone else's date anyway."
