Man oh man, it's been a long time. I haven't forgotten this book, I promise! It's been crazy for me- if you don't know, I recently moved abroad and it's been wonderful and freeing and lonely and weird. I've been mostly focusing my writing on my one shots, but I have a LOT of this book written and intend on finishing it at some point. It might be slow, but thanks for sticking around. Love you all x

Two nights later, Taylor and Gracie are getting ready to go out for the fateful evening. As Taylor is pulling on her jeans for the night, she hears a loud groan.
"Gracie?" she calls to the room over. "Is everything okay?"
"Can I borrow your bronzer?" Gracie calls back. "I forgot to grab more."
Taylor raises her eyebrows. She knows that Gracie doesn't usually like bronzer. She tends to opt for a super natural makeup look, only wearing the bare minimum. But as she walks into Gracie's room, stick of creamy bronzer in hand, she sees Gracie's entire makeup bag laid out on her dressing table.
Taylor looks at her friend. "You good there?"
"Yeah, thanks." She turns to look at Taylor and Taylor notices that she's got foundation caked onto her face, something that she doesn't usually like. She doesn't like the way it feels, the way it keeps her skin from breathing.
"Any reason for the makeup?" Taylor asks. "It's just a casual dinner."
"I just want to look nice," Gracie shrugs. "For Jayden." She grins when she says his name, which causes Taylor to smile as well.
"Alright. Well, you look great."
"Thanks," Gracie says with a smile. She reaches out and grabs Taylor's wrist just as her roommate is starting to leave. "You do too. You look amazing."
Taylor lets out a chuckle. "I'm not ready yet, I've just gotten dressed. I still need to do all of my makeup."
"You don't need makeup. You look amazing as is."
"Hey, just like you said..." Taylor murmurs, "I wanna look nice."
"Ooooo," Gracie snickers in a sing-song voice, "for Caasseeeyyy."
"Shut up," she replies, staring at the ground. "But... yeah..."
They both giggle a little bit. "It's gonna be great," Gracie reassures Taylor.
At that, Taylor slips away to finish getting ready, and it isn't long before they're out the door. It's a chilly New York evening, making for quite the unpleasant walk to the restaurant, but it's also close enough that taking the subway isn't going to be worth it for them. Once they get there, they climb into a booth, Gracie on one side and Taylor on the other, with the rationale that Gracie wants to cuddle with Jayden. It's a fair enough request, but also, the thought of sitting directly next to Casey is enough to send butterflies through Taylor's stomach.
The boys get to the restaurant soon and it immediately starts to go really well. They all order- a burger for Jayden and Casey, a sandwich for Taylor, and a salad for Gracie. The conversation flows naturally and there's a smile on Taylor's face for the entire evening.
Gracie doesn't need to wait for Taylor to text her to know that her friend is going to want this night to continue on beyond just the dinner. But Taylor does text her, confirming that. Just when she's about to bring up the movie, Jayden catches her off guard.
"Grac, do you wanna come back to my apartment?" he asks her quietly. "I wanted to watch the football game and we can bake cookies and cuddle up and... I can finally kiss you a little bit more than it's appropriate to do in this setting."
