Matthew's arrival

Toby's POV
I hold Spencer's hand as she pushes our little baby out.

" last push" the doctor says

I whisper in Spencer's ear "your nearly done baby, you can do it"

She squeezes my hand and screams in pain but then we both hear it. A cry fills the room and a tear goes down my face.

I kiss Spencer " you did it baby" she smiles in relief

"Toby , would you like to cut the cord" the doctor tells me

"Of course" I reply

I hold the scissors and cut the cord. I hold our little baby boy while the nurses clean Spencer up. I hand Spencer the baby and she cries.

"What are we going to name him" I ask

"Matthew" she says looking down at him in her arms.

"Welcome to the world Matthew" I say playing with his small little foot.

THE NEXT DAY
Still in hospital

Spencer's POV

I wake up to Matthew crying. Toby spent the night here with me and Matthew. We shared the hospital bed which is big but, Toby still took up more room even though I'm the one who just gave birth.

I hold Matthew he was hungry. I start feeding him.

"You look like your daddy and you definitely have his appetite too" I laugh

Toby starts to wake up

"Good morning my gorgeous wife" he says kissing my check in his sleepy voice "and my little son" he gives Matthew a kiss on the forehead while I breastfeed him.

" He doesn't stop eating he's defiantly like you Toby" I laugh, I finish breastfeeding him then burp him.

"Let me burp him your tired"

I smile and hand Matthew to Toby. He has been so supportive through the pregnancy even when I was having mood swings and yelling at him.

Toby places Matthew down and the doctor walks in

"Good morning Spencer how are you feeling today? He says

" I'm ok , just really sore still"

"That's normal and especially when you have a boy. Baby boys come out wider so it stretches the vagina more"

"Thank you Doctor Tim you've really helped me"

"No problem Spencer" then Toby comments

"Yeah thank you so much Doc for helping my wife"

"No worries"

Toby's POV

It's time for Spencer and Matthew to come home. I load the car up with all the presents we got from visitors.

I go back upstairs to the hospital room. I hold Matthew who is fast asleep in his car seat then I place my other hand on Spencer's back and guide her to the car.

She sits in the backseat with Matthew, while I drive.

"Everyone buckled in" I say turning behind me looking at Spencer holding Matthew's hand.

" We're ready" Spencer smiles.

I drive home slowly and carefully being cautious of my 2 favourite people in the back seat.

When we finally arrive home I open the door for Spencer and she holds Matthew close to her chest. I get the presents and the hospital bags out from the car.

I open the door and place everything down.

"Welcome home Matthew"
