I don't know how Wilson knew Laorencia. We were in the same class, but she made me go blind. After I went blind, I dropped out, but she managed to go on to graduate school. Wilson killed her. Why? They also said that they would kill the others. Who are they?
My head ached at the thought of all this, and I finally fell asleep a while later.
After some time...
"Eren..." I heard someone's voice near my ear. I opened my eyes in confusion, and I subconsciously pushed away Wilson's hand that was touching mine, "Is it getting late?"
As soon as those words came out of my mouth, I instantly realized and didn't feel sleepy anymore. This meant that I recognized that I could already see.
"Eren? You..."
I felt a dangerous aura around me. I reached out and felt my husband's hand that was beside my bed.
"Husband, I'm still confused, I forgot that I'm blind."
Wilson sighed and said, "Eren, it's still light."
"What?!"
"It's still daytime now. Tell me, have you been able to see before?"
I was surprised. I pretended to be blind. My heart broke, and I smiled bitterly as I said hoarsely, "No, I can never see."
"Good."
Since I misspoke, Wilson pretended to cough and asked, "You have to tell me immediately if anything happens, okay?" I nodded.
"Come on, drink the chicken soup." I couldn't resist anymore when she fed the soup into my mouth. I could only obey her without a fight.
"Why are you crying?" Her voice suddenly sounded worried.
I tried to restrain myself and lied, "I'm so sad, my baby is no more."
Actually, I was crying out of fear. I didn't know if this chicken soup was poisonous. Maybe I would be the next victim. When I realized that I had to stay with the two of them, my whole body trembled even more. My tears kept flowing non-stop. I wished in my heart that I could meet Maggie.
I don't have any friends, but I became friends with Maggie a few months ago. We're very close, there are no secrets between us, and she always patiently accompanies me shopping, takes me to her friend's parties, and introduces me to her friends so that I can forget my past.
If she comes to the house, I can ask her for help.
"Maggie?" Wilson looked displeased when he heard her name.
I nodded, "Where's my cell phone? I want to call her."
I reached out and felt around my bed, this time I felt for sure. I knew my cell phone was taken by them.
"You are still not well, the radiation from the cell phone is very strong, let me send a message to him."
I realized that Wilson was starting to suspect me. For fear of being caught, I could only nod, "Alright."
But suddenly he asked me, "Eren, you said there was a classmate of yours named Laorencia, right?"
>>>>>>
Wilson suddenly brought it up. I pulled up my blanket and tried to answer casually, "Why are you suddenly asking about it?"
Wilson paused for a moment before continuing, "It's okay. I've heard you say that you're blind because of what he did. I want to know what really happened that time."
I felt reluctant and looked away, "I don't want to talk about it."
Had it been back then, I would have been willing to share the darkest side of my life in front of my husband. However, right now, I don't even know who the husband I'm living with really is. I won't tell him the truth anymore.
He let out a long sigh and rubbed my head gently, "Then, rest for a while. I'll call Maggie and invite her home to keep you company."
When I heard the sound of the bedroom door closing, I quickly got out of bed with an uneasy feeling. I squatted in front of the drawers, opening them one by one and trying to find my cell phone, but I couldn't find it. The bedside table was only decorated with a potted sunflower. I remembered Wilson's sister putting it there. Could she have put something in it to blind me? Other than that, I couldn't find anything that could make me blind again.
I opened the bedroom door carefully and leaned against the crack of the door, hearing faint voices coming from the living room. "He must have been able to see before," Wilson's sister's voice rang out. She asked again, "Do you think brother-in-law will go to the police?"
Wilson didn't answer. Moments later, I heard my husband say, "Nelson, it turns out that killing can be addictive. After all, he can't see anymore now. The important thing is that we take good care of him."
My body was shaking as I returned to the bedroom and fell limply on the floor. I just hoped Wilson would keep his promise to invite Maggie home.
