It was New Year's Eve. It was supposed to be a holiday, but since I was working part-time at the campus cafe, I had to help out until the cafe closed before I could go home. The uncle and aunt at the cafe were very kind, and since they knew about my mom's condition, they let me go home early.

The only task I had to complete was to carry some used boxes to the warehouse. Although the warehouse was located in a remote place, it was in line with where I lived. Without realizing it, someone was following me.

Arriving at the warehouse, as I opened the door with the key and entered, there was a sudden sound of the door being locked from outside. I was startled and saw Laorencia's face through the reinforced window railing. There was a girl who often followed her around, who always praised her and wanted to please her.

"Eren, today is New Year's. My friend wants to celebrate with you. Do you want to go with me? If you agree, I will open this door."

I was furious, gripped the window frame, and said, "Why do you keep pushing me? I told you I don't want to date. Let me out!"

After some pushing and realizing that I wasn't going to change my mind, she said, "Okay, you're stubborn, right? I'll ask my friend to pick you up."

"Maybe he's still busy arranging a place to express his feelings. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to invite the female lead." After finishing speaking, he left with his followers.

I didn't have my cell phone with me and no one had passed by in a while. I could only wait for the return of Laorencia and her friend. I curled up on a pile of cardboard while I waited, and eventually I fell asleep (I was so tired after working overtime a few days in a row).

I woke up choking on a puff of smoke. When I realized, the cardboard inside the warehouse had started to burn. As I heard the sound of fireworks from outside, I quickly realized that it was a fire.

The warehouse contained many plastic bags, cardboard boxes and other used items. A puff of black smoke quickly enveloped my surroundings. My vision darkened, I covered my mouth and nose, but I didn't faint. That's probably what caused my eyes to suffer long-term damage.

Finally, I was rescued by people from outside when the flames began to creep toward me. I wasn't burned, but I felt like I was falling into a dark and silent hell.

After the incident, Laorencia paid me compensation, and she was also publicly punished by the school and admitted her guilt in front of more than 10,000 teachers and students. However, she began to carry a grudge against me. She felt that I was "ignorant" and "arrogant" because this led to her being punished and losing her authority. In fact, he claimed that I myself had caused the blindness in my eyes.

Since then, Laorencia has often brought some thugs, who curse and slander me in front of my house. She even edited my face into pornographic pictures and posted them around my neighborhood. Even though I was blind, someone kindly tore down the posters and gave them to my mother. My mother's heart hurt a lot seeing my continued suffering. Her body couldn't take it anymore and eventually she fell ill.

Not to mention the suffering of losing my eyesight, I also had to pray every day for my mother who was lying in the ICU. However, my mother never regained consciousness, even though all the money, including the compensation money paid by Laorencia, had been used up. She died the day before my birthday. All this because of Laorencia, this crazy woman!

When the thugs were arrested by the police, they did not mention Laorencia by name, so only they received punishment. They were from poor families, so they didn't have the money to pay compensation. I felt very hopeless and couldn't afford to continue my studies. Laorencia held me up when I went to school to get my resignation letter. Only then did I realize that she was helping me when she put her face to my ear.

"Eren, you don't know yourself. You killed your mother. You're really jinxed," she said.

My hands were shaking with anger. I could not contain myself and continued to hit the woman beside me. I even scratched Laorencia's face. A classmate said that the scar would leave a deep mark. From her nature, I was sure she wouldn't forgive me easily. So, I bought a ticket and fled the city that night.

Then, when I was at my lowest point, I met Wilson. I never thought that my newfound hope would lead me to another hell.
