The teacher was only new on their campus, but many were saying he was a young and a great teacher. They even complimented how approachable he was, how smiley he used to appear, and how close he already had become with most of his students even though he had only started teaching there only a month ago.
It was 4:30 pm. The study hall is in the first building, 3rd floor. When he went inside, the orange hue from the descending sun was seeking from the windows of the room. Sometimes, there would be a few students who'd come here to advance study. But today, since the intramural week was about to come, there were fewer activities and lessons. It was only him in the study hall. Students were excited for the following events, not only because it was full of extracurricular activities, but because there were less assignments and more vacant classes since teachers too were busy preparing. But since he's one of the event organizers as part of the student council, and one of the contestants as well, he could be one of the exceptions.
He chose to sit on the chair nearby the window so he can sit on the light. He liked to look elsewhere outside— the sky, tree branches, birds— whenever he wanted to focus. He opened the computer and set his alarm.
Several minutes had passed, the orange hue of the sun went darker and darker until he had to switch the lights on. When he heard his alarm, he only finished the last lesson he left before he packed his things. He was only about to open the door after he switched the lights off when somebody appeared from nowhere. It was a girl, weeping. Her hair was a mess and her mascara and eye liner smudged her face due to her tears. Her eyes were puffy and she seemed crying for so long.
"W-what happened?" Taehyung asked, shocked. "Why are you crying?"
The girl seemed to say something but she was struggling to utter a word because of her hiccups. "T-the.." Taehyung waited for her to form her sentence but no matter how hard he try to understand what she was saying, he failed to get what she wanted to mean.
"I'm sorry but I can't understand whatever you're saying," he told her. The girl hiccuped and she was struggling to stop herself from crying. Her grip was tightening and her gaze was shuffling from where she went and him.
Taehyung sighed, "You need to calm down. Breathe, okay?" The girl repeatedly nodded and did what he told her. After a few minutes, she finally calmed down but her hiccups were still there.
"You okay?" He asked her. The girl nodded. "Now, tell me what happened? Why are you still here, it's already quarter to 7?"
"I-I," she hiccuped, "w-went to the— faculty," she answered.
"And?"
"H-he," she trailed, then a tear slipped her eye. "H-he— I.."
"What did he do?"
Then the girl started crying again. She repeatedly shook her head and ran away. Taehyung tried to stop her but she went downstairs. He was confused and worried at the same time. He wondered what happened and she was shuddering in fear. He closed the door and followed her downstairs.
When he reached the first floor, he looked for her. But he failed to see her. "She must've went home already," he murmured. So he also decided to go home. Yeojin must be waiting for him as well.
He didn't notice until then that Jungkook messaged him.
