Chad was walking home after spending the whole day having fun with his friends. Although he wasn't eager to return to his house just yet, he knew that his mother, Cheddar, was expecting him. However, when the young Flamin' Hot Cheeto approached his beautiful brick home, he couldn't help but notice that something was off.
Hesitant to go inside, he took a moment to observe his surroundings-but nothing felt out of the ordinary. Everything was the same as it had been when he left this morning. Unsure as to what had triggered his sudden bout of anxiety, he pushed his feelings aside and prepared to enter the home. He was approaching the front door, when—
THUMP!
—Chad tripped and landed uncomfortably onto the front porch. Upon closer inspection, the Cheeto discovered that a random fragment of concrete was responsible for his tumultuous tumble.
Huh," muttered the artificially colored piece of junk food to himself, trying to gauge where the uninvited construction material had come from.
His eyes lingered towards where the porch met the side of the house. He emitted a mortified gasp when he discovered that the once-pristine porch floor now had large chunks missing from it, exposing the barren dirt hidden below.
This is a bad omen, I must tell my mother, thought Chad as he scrambled back onto his imaginary feet.
He was about to open the door when it opened for him, revealing a very confused Cheddar.
"What's this commotion about?" she asked while trying to figure out why her son was freaking out so much.
Mother, you must see this, it's a bad omen!" cried Chad. The bright red Cheeto pointed out the crime scene to his neon orange mother.
When Cheddar witnessed the holes in her once perfect front porch, she instantly realized what her son meant.
"This is a bad omen indeed." She agreed with Chad, "The entire Cheeto race is in mortal danger. Minister Richard Ruffles II and his loyal leaves have been growing stronger by the day. I fear that if we don't do something soon, they will find a way to bully all of us."
Chad shivered at the reminder of the cruel leaves and their even crueler leader. The copper-colored plant matter and their empty bag of chips for a leader had been bullying him and the other Cheetos for a very long time.
His fear of the leaves and Minister Ruffles turned into a burning rage quite fast. Chad does not like bullying. Chad will not tolerate bullying. Chad will do whatever it takes to stop the bullying. Chad must stop the bullying.
"We must stop them at all costs, but how are we even going to do that?" urgently asked the Flamin' Hot Cheeto.
His mother was rather quick to respond, "You must find the almighty Goldfish. He is the only one who has the power to defeat Minister Ruffles and his army. This quest won't be an easy one; the Goldfish lives far, far away and the path to his residence is very treacherous. You cannot go alone if you wish to survive the voyage; you must bring those you trust the most with you."
"Are you going to come, mother?" asked Chad.
"I would, but I am needed here; my absence would only make it easier for the leaves to attack.""You're right, I shall reflect about whom to bring on this mission." replied Chad, about to head upstairs to his room.
"Wait!" called out Cheddar, holding out some mysterious scroll, "Take this, it is a map that will guide you to the Goldfish."
Chad rushed back to snatch it, embarrassed that he was planning on going on a dangerous trip without something as trivial as a map to his destination. "Thanks, Mom," he said.
