A/N Just to let you know that Tonks is non-binary and uses she/they pronouns. This chapter is a bit rushed, sorry about that.

Warnings: mentions of alcoholism, child neglect and emotional abuse.

Callisto gently knocked on the door of her aunt's home. She promised she'd visit as soon as she gets the chance during Christmas break. And since she was supposed to meet up with her friends as Landon's house later today, she let her aunt know that she would visit before noon. Besides, it was easier to lie that she would be at Daphne's the whole day. She'd done it before and they never suspected her.

Mere moment later, the door were thrown open. Andromeda Tonks smiled softly as she took in the sight of her niece. "Welcome, sweetheart." The older woman engulfed the girl into motherly embrace. Andromeda's hugs always felt different than Narcissa's. They were warmer.

"Hi, aunty." Callisto hugged her back. Big smile was stretched across her face. "I missed you."

"I missed you too." Andromeda placed a kiss to the crown of Callisto's head before letting go. She ushered her niece inside and held her at arm's length.

They haven't seen each other since July. And although Callisto was writing frequently to her aunt and cousin, it wasn't the same as being with them. She felt freer whenever she visited Tonks estate. Her aunt and uncle were always so kind. And Tonks was the older sibling Callisto never had.

Andromeda tsked. "Have you been eating well?" One look was all it took for Andromeda to notice that Callisto lost a bit of weight, rather than gaining some.

"Yes." Half lie, half truth. She didn't want to worry her aunt.

Her aunt pursed her lips and narrowed her eyes. "Let's say I believe you. For now."

Ted entered the hallway from the living room. His smile widened when he approached them. "I hope I'm not interrupting the reunion." He said and opened his arms for Callisto.

She smiled at her uncle and hugged him as well. Since the moment Callisto met him, Ted Tonks was epitome of goodness. Warm smiles and kind soul. She was happy her aunt had found him. She couldn't think of a more perfect pair than the two of them.

"Long time no see, uncle." Callisto teased happily. Whenever she came here, it was like all of her worries lessened. They became nothing more than an afterthought. And she could find peace in here.

"It's good to have you here, dear." Ted pated her head and Callisto moved her head away with a fake scoff, pretending she disliked it.

"Come on, let's seat in the living room. Dor should be any moment." Every since Tonks came out as non-binary, they requested that people call them by their surname. And she asked her parents to simply call her Dor, as a shortened version of their name.

The smell of freshly baked cookies filled Callisto's nose. Chocholate chip cookies. She smiled. Those were her uncle's specialty. Her aunt was a great cook. That was undeniable. But no one could make cookies the way Ted did. Tonks and Callisto adored them. Therefore Ted always happily made them.

"Just pulled them out of the oven." Ted smiled as he levitated a plate full of cookies to the coffee table.

"Seat down, dear. I'll bring tea." Andromeda placed a hand on Callisto's back and moved her to seat on the plush armchair. Caring smile adorned her face. "Or would you rather coffee?"

"You have coffee?" Callisto's brows furrowed. "None of you drink coffee."

"You've written that you started drinking coffee. So we bought some to have when you visit." Andromeda placed a kiss on top of Cal's head as the girl's eyes widen a small fraction.
