It was the second week of school, a cool summer morning when the teacher asked for everyone's attention, as a new student would be joining them from there on out.

The classroom was quiet, not out of respect and reverence, but out of shock and confusion as the student before them was a black girl.
No one even dared to blink.

"Introduce yourself."

"Right! Hi, I'm Violetta but you can call me Vi! I hope we can all be friends."

Violetta took a bow before standing back up straight, a gapped toothed smile with squinted eyes followed after.

The teacher gestured with his right hand towards a student sat at the back middle row, whom sat next to the only empty seat in the class.

"You can sit next to Rindou Haitani, Rindou raise your hand."

A boy with just below the ear length blonde and blue hair tiredly raised his hand, his other hand supporting his head from falling over on his desk. Violetta nodded and bounced over to her seat, countless eyes following her every move as she sat down next to the boy.

The teacher got started with class, and as they transitioned into their break the class filled with idle chatter. But some suddenly remembered the new student that had appeared in their class. Turning heads, wide eyes, and hushed whispers filled the room as the aforementioned student doodled in her notebook.

Violetta looked up, oblivious to the stares and talks of her. She turnt her head to see her desk mate looking up at the ceiling, the angle of his head making it hard to really see his face.

"Hi, I'm Violetta. What's your name again? I kinda forgot."

The boys head fell down and turned to face Violetta, glasses slipping down his nose a bit. He pushed up his glasses while he scanned the girl's face. He was silent for a moment while Violetta looked at him with a patient smile.
He grumbled out an answer before turning his head to look out the window past the students closest to said window.

"I didn't catch that, could you like repeat it?"

The boy huffed and spoke a bit louder, no agitation in his voice but rather exhaustion.

"It's Rindou, don't talk to me. I'm not someone you wanna associate with."

He turnt his head to look at Violetta, watching as her fluffy lashes hit her cheeks. She giggled softly, the sound making Rindou want to roll his eyes. Not out of annoyance but more so out of just general dislike. It reminded him of the laughter of different girls coming from his brother's room.

"Why do you say that? Am I gonna get in trouble or something?"

The boy now identified as Rindou didn't answer, deciding it wasn't worth freaking out the girl. He didn't want to make her an outcast on her first day so he decided he should opt to come converse with her as little as possible.

Rindou just turned his head back towards the window, ignoring Violetta's sound of confusion that slipped out past her lips.

Two weeks had passed since Violetta had joined her class, the stares had all but disappeared but the whispers remained. Violetta had made two friends, two girls from other classes who had shown Violetta all the cool hang outs around school. She was very grateful for their kindness as everyone kind of strayed away from her with the exception of the boy who sat next to her.

What was his name again? Violetta couldn't remember truly so she just resorted to calling him Rin or Rin Rin to which the boy would tell her not to call him that or he'd grumble out a correction of 'Rindou'.
